Ooh baby, good to see Tuch heating up again after an injury impacted first half of the season. Two more goals in a 4-0 BU lead in the third. Two goals in a buck five to boot.

Pitlick gets his first official NCAA goal (the last one was an exhibition game against the U18 team). He also added an assist on the GWG.

I was excited when Gordin was traded from the very deep and stacked SKA organization to Sochi. It was a move that signalled that he might be able to play more often at a higher level. This was true, as he has been mainly with the KHL club. The really bad thing is he averages just under 5 minutes a game of TOI. You just don’t get better not playing at any level. His 5:21 ice time today was the most in the last eight games. Ooooh those Russians.

Not a bad night for Logan Mailloux... 2 goals, +3 and 8 shots on net.
That's 13 shots now in 2 games played.

Here is another example of the velocity and leverage that Mailloux gets on his wrist shot. This was from his first game, on Friday night. Knocks the goalie’s mask right off and likely rung a bell or two.

Glad to see this year’s Beanpot will take place, especially after missing it last year to COVID. Four prospects will participate so even more fun for Habs fans. TSN has shown the games in the past, so here is hoping that continues this year.

Hamilton Bulldogs are going all in this year. First they traded a boat load of picks for top UFA defender Xhekaj, and earlier this week they did a double double to get top end forward Mason McTavish. Myšák just got a fabulous winger. Jan ended up with a goal and two apples tonight in a 6-2 win over Niagara. Xhekaj had an assist.
Earlier today over in Russia, Spartak just keeps playing Kostenko with whichever team is playing. He had two assists with Spartak’s MHL club, including the primary assist on the GWG in OT with 16 ticks left. He threw a good wrister on net, and it deflected in off his mate. Game over!

Quite the tale of two different Russian prospects. Gordin gets limited to around 5 minutes or less of KHL ice time rather than getting sent to the VHL and hopefully getting more opportunity. Kostenko just finished playing his fifth game in seven nights, playing sometimes over 25 minutes a night at both the VHL and MHL level. For the first time in those five games, he was held off the scoresheet. Spartak is giving him every opportunity to play and with top pairing ice time.
Ooooh those Russians.

Stapley pots his 9th (a career best) goal in a 4-0 DU win. He is over a ppg pace with 23 points in 20 games this season. Timmins may have swung and missed with a number of first rounders, but he and his team had a rather wild ability to find guys in the 7th round.
Dichow bounces back after a rough start in his previous game with a crazy 42 save win. He is being suited by a few SHL teams, so interesting to see if the Habs make a play to sign him and get him in the AHL or let him further mature in the SHL (a pretty good option as this is pretty well his first “full” year with lots of playing time). The Habs have his rights until June 1, 2023.

Oil Kings did all their damage in the third, including an assist by Guhle, as they beat his old team PA 4-1 tonight.
Captain Harris potted his third of the season, a nice one timer GWG in a 4-0 Northeastern win tonight. I am sure his old junior Boston Eagles coach, Kent Hughes, will be happy to see that.
