It'll be interesting to see how dvorak does under Marty It's hard to shine from when thrown into a mud hole.... I think Dvorak is a solid second C but at this point, we have never seen him put in that position.

Dvorak may be an average second line centre, but I see a guy that is lacking in too many areas (skating, offensive play-driving skills, backchecking, defensive awareness) to be a high end 2C.
I am sure that management wants him to get healthy and make their own evaluation of what he brings to the table.
And it sure would be nice to win the lottery and select Shane Wright. However, reality probably says Montreal needs a healthy Dvorak on the roster in 2022-23 because the organizational depth at centre is underwhelming. I may be wrong but I see Evans, best case, as a respectable third liner. I think Poehling has the tool set to be a decent 3C. Guys like Dauphin and Vejdemo are, in my opinion, nothing more than fourth liners.

Lots of guys at full practice today. Drouin, Dvorak and Eddy still waiting for medical clearance to play. Tyler Pitlick is in Montreal with the team, but not practicing on the ice yet after his injury. That is a potential large group of warm bodies at some point. Maybe Hughes should trade a few. 😉 The Rocket are going to look awesome for a few games if/when the Habs decide to put a few down on conditioning stints.

Allen could be back this week. Before the trade deadline too and there would be interest. But would Hughes have brass ones enough to gamble on Carey’s health and return to play? A fun twist to this sudden larger number of available goalies. At least Primeau will get back to Laval.

Allen and Dvorak activated off IR. Primeau and Ylönen sent to Laval to make room.
Also, Tyler Pitlick is practicing in a regular jersey today.

Drouin has been 'day to day' his whole career. Will be interesting to see if Marty can do anything with our problem child.

Some little updates from today. Injury update: Jonathan Drouin, feelings hurt Carey Price, back injury carrying cash to bank Brendan Galligher, overworked, needs rest, realized he's 5'9" Jeff Petry, lonely, family away in Michigan and all alone on defense Christian Dvorak, how did I get here The future looks much better than the past and we will move on with youth, energy, drive, effort and new leadership

Drouin has been 'day to day' his whole career. Will be interesting to see if Marty can do anything with our problem child. If a guy like Marty cannot, then can anybody? After all, it seems like all the guys have improved under Marty or at least not regressed at all. A guy like Drouin should probably benefit from the greater offensive flexibility that will come from playing under Marty’s system. I actually look forward to see if it sticks. I am very interested in the Marty effect on both Dvorak and Drouin.

Unreal... so fragile... Berg gifts just keep on giving.. Drouin, Armia and Hoffman = $13.4M or 16% of the cap... The cap is supposed to go up by $1M Might as well buy out Drouin in the off season

I hate buyouts. It's like not being willing to pull that sticky bandage off all at once (put up with Drouin for one more year) and instead slooooowwwwlllly pulling it out so it hurts for 3 times as long (less CAP pain but for 2 or 3 years instead). We're not winning it all next year, so better to leave as is, try and improve his play (if healthy) to where we can get a 4th round draft pick for him at the deadline. If not, we let him go in July and have $5MM extra in CAP space to help for a year when we are integrating more kids and watching the existing ones take giant steps.

Can't wait til he's gone, I'd be down with a buyout but not sure it's worth it. Just demote him to Laval, he'd refuse to report then you can suspend him and he can stay home

I never got past the image of him being Tiny Tim on skates. The minute he got a split nail it was yelping back to mommy for that life threatening injury....
Worthless puke....

I've been calling him Mr.Softie for years now. He won't change. I bet if you compare our record when he's in the line up to when he's out, you would see our winning % is much better when he's out - see last years playoff run. I'm good with him being bought out, sent down, scratched, traded, given away, LTIR. It don't matter which as we will be a better team without him.

I guess this is why Ylönen was called up on an emergency basis yesterday. Out of healthy bodies as I believe Perreault is the only healthy scratch at forward.
As for Price, I am becoming less and less convinced we see him this season.

I really was hoping to see what Drouin would look like under Marty down the stretch. I will just leave it at that.

Successful Knee Surgery in July, expected return in September Left unprotected, and all will be explained Depression in October, 30 days in EAP Comes back in November, we are told it will take time for him to get his head cleared January we learn his surgery suddenly wasn't a success Starts skating around team in February March has "virus" Yeah , right .... as the church lady says ... "HOW COVENIENT!"

Allen and Monty have played well, but playoff Carey is not what we need right now.
