Only Arizona has a worse record then us, 3 points behind. We've played 3 more games however. All in for that first overall

Tx for the GDT Dis! That's a classic hi-lite film. But what's with the black and white, pretty sure I watched it in colour. Hi-lite for me is at the 4:28 mark where Larry is leaning against the glass after pummelling Shultz and a fan gives Larry his drink and Larry takes a sip - hope it was some 50.
Going to be hard to go from the Big Bird to David Savard and Wideman tonight.

And Berg didn't want him around... jeebus. The new people in charge better show them the respect they've earned because what is on the wall of the dressing room are not just words, its a roadmap to success... To Berg, they were just words... watching DumbAsWoodman and Wideman will be agonizing

With Niku out of COVID protocol, I can see sending Corey back. The Primeau move likely signals that (a) they want to give Allen some much deserved nights off and (b) they have no faith in Monty to get those starts. Can Primeau QB a PP?

I remember that brawl. A Sunday afternoon game at the Forum. Message sent and received.
The Flyers would win the Cup that season (73-74) and the next...but they didn't meet the Habs in the playoffs.
Those Flyers, the Pat Quinn Leafs (Domi, Roberts, Tucker, Belak, adding Marchment for a season to boot...make that "to knee"), and the 2011 Bruins...ugh...
All warmly supported by the league.

I hope that Primeau is simply the recipient of a temporary reward for his outstanding play in Laval of late, maybe get him a couple starts for the Habs before the Christmas recess. But I think he should go back to the Rocket and be the man there. Goalie is almost the only position where I see clear value in letting a high end prospect over-marinate in the AHL.
Honestly I do not think it would matter much at this point if Price was healthy and ready to go. I mean, the most basic numbers are astounding -- bottom five in power play, penalty kill, goals for, and goals against.

Primeau has been holding together a severely depleted Rocket lineup, so that really is the place he is needed most right now. I too think they throw him a game (or two) as reward and also to rest Allen.

Looks like it is a very short call up for Primeau. Play tonight, back to Laval tomorrow. Monty will get one of the three starts after this one. That should be fun!

Is it Primeau's Philly connection that prompted them to give him this start? Otherwise why bring him up for one game?

I was too young to remember that brawl, but I do remember the classic pre-game brawl in Game 6 of the 1987 Conference Finals. Good times.

I was at the Forum for a game between the Flyers and Habs, back in the day, and Schultz and Pete Mahovlich squared off at centre ice ... the scrum ended with Schultz on his back and Mahovlich in a full-mount (I think that's what the UFC calls it) ... here's that beer clip ... it's bookmarked on my Twitter account ... never knew the clip was right after Larry Robinson dispatched Schultz ... Cheers.

The boys started fast and furious. In the second, unfortunately, in transition the Flyers started finding some holes in the Habs defense.

Nice win for the kid! Hope he’s ok. Wouldn’t that be par for the course this season if he got hurt on the sinning save in the shootout.
That call on Chiarot in OT was bush league.

I am happy for Primeau in particular; he was really good. And I am happy for the boys in general. The compete level was there tonight. Montreal is going to lose more than its share of games going forward, so I feel extremely confident in a bottom five finish. But on nights where the boys dial in and work hard against an opponent that is rather meh, a few wins will be found over a 82 game season, which is fine.
Arizona is so abject there is no point in believing a 32nd place finish is possible. And I am beginning to sense the traditional Buffalo death spiral take hold and thus it may be hard for the Habs to finish second from the bottom. But with my eyes wide open I see a 30th overall finish as a relatively safe bet. Seattle is bad, so that could be a thing but really who else?

Primeau deserved a star, from what I heard on the radio.
3rd - Chiarot (1 assist, 7 SOG) 2nd - Dauphin (tied it at 2 in the 3rd) 1st - Drouin (I presume for the SO winner)
Caufield with 8 shots and was buzzing. A lot of "no cigars" for him this year.

Have no fear, we have 2 games against Arizona remaining ... we will be the cure that ails them.
