Rooting for Monty today.
He's been good...but can't stop Barkov on the PP one-timer.

Caufield on a breakaway and can't get a shot off ...I thought he was faster than that He has been the biggest enigma of the season for me. Such a promising end of season and playoffs in terms of being a "clutch sniper". Those legit types don't always need "support" per se...they just score. He's been "there"...just not finishing.

They see all the penalties on white ... not so much the other way. This season it doesn't bother me, but the officiating is what is going to drive me away from NHL hockey
And as I am typing this Suzuki on a short handed breakaway gets hooked/slashed and no call ...should have been a penalty shot

Barkov touched Suzuki's stick and disrupted that breakaway attempt. Not in the hands....perfect play. No penalty.
Had Suzuki dropped his stick, however, we'd be seeing a penalty shot.
That's how close those calls are.
EDIT:
Sorry, Skilly...I missed the prior hook as you reported.

But, had Suzuki dropped his stick...or if the stick had been broken....yep...penalty shot. So...I guess it's all matter of the shooter's grip or stick strength. Same play. Nuts. Barkov was lucky.

Looked to me there were two actions on that play. Eklbad reaches in and looks to me hits his hand and stick ...then when the stick comes to the ice again, looks like he clips Suzuki's skate a little. But there was only one replay and not a good one at that I've no doubt if that was a Habs defenseman , it's called ....and that's what boils me about these type plays (and goal reviews) Yet Habs management sit and take it ... in a season like this, they should blow up and point it out

A gallant effort in an inevitable outcome. They have no reason to hang their heads... they gave a great effort... they got beat by the panthers and the refs

In any sport where gambling is legal, if one thinks there isn't game management going on, I have a great deal on a whack-a-slicer.
I remember my dad going on about crooked refereeing decades ago and I hid a smirch and chuckled inwardly. We become our parents.

Remember when he was plummeting down the draft board and TT and Berg snapped him up. They were high giving, laughing and acting like they were the smartest guys in the room.. Well we should know by now.. Bergie is never the smartest guy in the room. Looks like another draft bust in Habland, where only the guys we give away amount to anything

As disappointed as I am in Cole, the most disconcerting for me is Peohling. I was thinking/hoping he would take this opportunity to show himself. Instead he seems weaker than the newbies just brought up. He's starting to remind me a lot of McCarron.

Looks like another draft bust in Habland, where only the guys we give away amount to anything I honestly think he misses having Perry/mentor and puts too much blame on himself, it's a maturity thing and different kids handle it differently... given the way this org was setup under Berg, I am unsure of how much player support there was under Berg given the announcement from Geoffey when hiring Gorton. His tires got pumped up too much and now they've deflated... a learning experience for a kid... I'll worry about CC if he's like this next year
