From the Take the Ws Whenever You Can department...
Molson Cup winner for January: Samuel Montembeault. 9GP. 1-3-2. .889. 4.43 GAA.
First goalie in Habs' history to record at least 48 saves in consecutive games.
Wonder which Habs' goalie (playing behind a subpar-for-whatever-reasons roster) held the team record before?
Hackett? Theodore? Halak? Price? Other?

A bit of a relief. I was worried that Marty would provide some kind of boost or inspiration just enough to cost us a top draft pick
Looks same ol'team. Petry is lost.
Got spanked by a team missing 3 of its top 6 forwards including Oshie and Ovechkin

They have to get rid of Hoffman, Chiarot, wideman and clague... Hoffman does nothing, he doesnt support the D, he would rather dump the puck out than make a pass, he only cares about personal stats...

Thank God the new coach is going to turn things around. It's going to make our second, third, fourth and fifth rate goaltending become superstars and our "don't give a crap" team into devout workaholics.
I'm holding my breath.....

Glad to see you sounding so cheerful HA, but I hope you don't turn blue from all that breath holding you're going to be doing. Caufield was on the No. 1 Power Play Unit & scored on a great shot. He scored another but it was disallowed as the puck just went over the blue line so it was offside. So that's one positive from the game which I'm delighted to see. I'm keen on finding out the Habs line combinations. Anybody got them? So keep smiling HA. Cheers

That was actually fun to watch. Perhaps it was the New Coach Bump but just love MSL's enthusiasm and his articulation of the play and players. He loves Suze and says you can measure speed different ways: foot speed and brain speed and Suze is all over the latter. And he says he prefers to teach concepts not systems; sounds very refreshing.
And Cole is back! Who let the dogs out? Cole will not be on the 4ht line for long. Cole wore #26 before arriving in Mtl because of his love for MSL . I see something happening here. Dump Petry and let Cole get his proper number which will be in the rafters once Cole is finished. And it won't be there for Pierre Bouchard.
Now the key is to watch these guys develop but not gain points in the standings.

Cheers. Thanks Dis but the 1st PP unit is wrong as Caufield scored on an assist from Suzuki and that site doesn't list Caufield on that unit. So I wonder how accurate the entire lineup is and if the listing is a hangover from Ducharme's lineup. I'm keeping an eye on it to see if it changes. Cheers

Watched the highlights. Was disappointed to see Caufield's 2nd goal called back but what kind of linesman watches that play by Toffoli and thinks it's onside?

It happened pretty fast, in the slow motion replay Toffolis hand is at the blue line but in catching the puck his hand moved back outside All in a though it was more fun to watch than anything all season... CCs disallowed goal got me to jump out of my chair... havent done that all season.

CCs disallowed goal got me to jump out of my chair... havent done that all season. Yup. I let out a long pent up yell. And even though it was disallowed, I think the feeling Cole got after scoring the goal, even if for only a few moments, will help him get his feel and confidence back. As for the off-side, I thought it was inconclusive and I still don't know how these officials determine these replays on a 12 inch screen

Watched the highlights. Was disappointed to see Caufield's 2nd goal called back but what kind of linesman watches that play by Toffoli and thinks it's onside? I am finding now that the linesmen don't call offsides anymore. They wait for the play to go the other way or if there is a goal they wait for the replay.
