Well, we all knew something was rotten in Denmark. Does it surprise anyone that players would have no respect for MB or Ducharme? There was little respect for MB for years on this board, and we lost respect for Ducharme even before the playoff run and during it. Remember he wouldn't play the youngins while the has-beens stunk out the joint. No wonder KK put the 4 fingers up as a sign of revolt. No wonder the team did quite well for the few games Richardson took over. Everyone has respect for Luke.
So glad to have HuGo and Marty leading the pack - they command respect by their actions and the kind of decent guys they are.

One excerpt states that the players were surprised that Ducharme was hired and not Luke Richardson. Clearly, the players knew the difference. But then there's that language issue.
I'd love to get a copy of the book. It might help me learn French and I'd love to find out why the players thought Bergevin acted like an adolescent. Did he hide behind more plants that we were unaware of?
Brian Wilde's opinion is that the dressing room is sacrosanct and everything should stay behind closed doors. Well, if the team is run properly, it would be. No one would have any issues. I wonder if Brian has been asked if his opinion would be the same if the disclosures involved bullying or LGBTQ matters? No one is going to write a book that doesn't have some scandalous stories. It wouldn't even be published, because who would buy such a book. I usually agree with Wilde's takes on things, but I'm not sure he has thought this through properly. In his defense, the tweet was deleted, so maybe he did give it additional thought.

I was a little surprised that a very long time employee like Gervais, who was highly regarded, would decide to go the “tell all” book route. I guess the lure of holiday book sales in a market that is ripe for juicy stories about scapegoats they already don’t like is easy pickings. Now I have not read the book, so perhaps it is a well balanced insight to his long career around the Habs with a nice mix of stories. There have been some truly excellent hockey books written over the ages along those lines.

Tx for posting WD.
Very interesting the Max captaincy. I never liked the selection. Never saw leadership qualities and Gervy confirms Max was all about Max. As well, on the ice he would disappear for weeks only to appear with another streak. But your captain needs to be there consistently.
Interesting to note he never even got a "A" in Vegas.

I get a kick out of the media going a little stir crazy over something that was pointed out on this board for years … the previous 3 (I’d even throw Jacques Martin in this mix) head coaches had no clue how to develop youngsters and were terrible coaches.
Ohhh to revive the Max vs PK debate …. Fun times. I remember one of them be accused of being all about himself
Btw, the PK Subban apology band wagon lines up on the left.
