Everyone is looking up Dach stats and highlights? Not much to see so far. Are they hoping for some sort of breakout because when I've seen Chicago, Dach didn't stand out. Romanov (and lower picks) for Dach should have a lot of upside for us if Dach can turn things around. I can't figure out why the Islanders decided to do this now...

Figured Kasper might go top 10. I had him later earlier, but there was buzz about him. Wings hoping he isn't a friendly ghost. I think Yzerman misread his name and thought it was an unfriendly giant - Kasperitis

This isn't draft related but it seems like the new guys on the Habs are staying in Montreal over the summer... Suze, Cole
Hopefully this is something HuGo are instilling in the players

Darn, I never really liked Dach. At least as a centerman. He’s definitely more talented than Dvorak, but way less effective imo. And terrible on face offs.
The new front office didn’t get the memo that we’re awful with 3rd overall picks??

Bit of a gamble for HuGo, but I understand the hope. Change of scenery for Dach and hope he is a decent (and big) complement to Suzuki. He is only 21. They feel that Guhle and the other LHD can fill the huge void with losing fan fave (and mine) Romy. Guts baby. I like that HuGo are at least willing to take swings. Safe is death may be over.

Rutger big guy. Skating is a worry, but I thought he might drop a bit. Captain of the U18s though. Big, but great mitts

And at the very least, this may be one of the first times that the other shoe actually dropped. Way too often in the past, a move or selection felt incomplete and then stayed that way. At lease here, there’s a clear strategy. Gonna miss Romy, though. Probably our most enthusiastic player since Subban.

Kemell and Lekkermaki still there. Nuts. Oops, great pick for Vancouver. He should have gone earlier.

I hoped he would slip (like a few others still not picked).

Getting time to start thinking about trading up? We might get a couple of goofy picks that make it not needed. Still some great talent alive yet.

I think trading for Dach also means not pushing to trade up for a C at this draft.

I wondee if they were just not sure about Wright so looked at a completely different way to get that centre, while still keeping 26 & 33. We lost Romanov but we have a lot of young dmen coming.

I wonder if the rumours about Montreal trying to get the #7 puck from Ottawa were true, and Montreal was very much in on trying to get Alex Debricat. But Ottawa wasn’t willing, so Chicago went directly to Ottawa and then called Montreal back and told them “hey, sorry we couldn’t work out a deal for Debricat but if you can get a top 15 pick, we will give you Dach”
