Allen starts after all. No other lineup changes.

Most teams have crashed and burned this season on the roadie through Florida, Tampa, and Carolina. One would assume Montreal is going to eat three regulation losses, but hey hockey is strange sometimes.

Mike Weaver. A favourite of mine. Honestly. Gutsy guy. Helped us out in that 2014 run until we were infected by Kreideritis.

Savard has impressed me since he's been back... making nice tape to tape passes

Romanov makes a good play behind the net, headmans it to the boards. A nice quick pass to Hoffman, who has to just pass the puck ahead. But he lollygags, or couldn't process the play fast enough, and he couldn't handle the nice pass. It gets stripped from him by someone behind him, and two passes later it's 4-1 .... he has been a brutal pickup

Good grief Habs. Enuf, save it for a contending year.

This team does not want to give up and die. They’re like Wile E. Coyote. No matter how many cliffs they fall from, they just get up and chase the Roadrunner again.

Florida announcers keep harping on how few Shots on goal the Habs have (in a tight 5-4,game) and ignore the fact Bobrovsky has an .800 save percentage.
Despite the hoopla over the Panthers, their goaltending is a real concern.

Lets hope the Habs can cling to this one goal deficit.

No such luck, as Ottawa loses 4-1. To rub salt in the wound, Mike McCarron scored 2 goals for Nashville.
Actually, I'm glad for him.
PS. I hope he's recovered the money he had to put out for skating lessons.

We got Flipper (Larry Dolphin) in the trade, so both teams have some assets that are still contributing in some way. Oh yeah, don’t pick high with size as your primary attribute. Tinordi too. Yikes.

That was an ugly game. No one played well but some played awful. Hoffman has been consistently awful so no surprise there. What is a surprise is the talking heads said Marty thinks Hoff has a high IQ. WTF!
Cole and Suze had a poor game. Back to Hoffman, can we get him off that line and Josh back.
Barron had his struggles but happy he's playing and hopefully learning - but he does need to bulk up.
As potent as Fla is offensively, I don't think they can shut things down with their D and goalies. Mind you Ekblad will help, but will he be enough for a Cup run.

What is a surprise is the talking heads said Marty thinks Hoff has a high IQ. WTF! Hoffman's play and a high hockey IQ can co-exist. There is another factor advanced stats guys call GAS for Give a (midden heap). Hoffman scores quite low on that measure, easily offsetting any IQ score.

Hoffman should not be on the first line, period. That turnover was just so brutal and so amateurish. It is a shame that guy who can really skate and snipe just never figured out attention to the finer details of the game. But he is like 33 years old, so it is safe to say no coach is going to teach an old dog new tricks.
Florida certainly could be vulnerable in the playoffs. For me they should obsess about finishing first in the conference because Washington looks like the weakest playoff team and given the Capitals problems in net and on the blueline, I would foresee the Panthers winning that matchup rather easily. However, Florida could be in trouble if the first round opponent is Boston.
