Are there restrictions in Quebec again? The coaches are wearing masks & there are a number of empty seats.

The boys have some jump thus far in the first.
Byron has never really looked in sync after the hip surgery. It is good to see his mates kill off that penalty for him.

Anderson giveth and Anderson taketh away. Three guys go deep to forecheck ( ) and then Anderson cruises through the neutral zone and it finally dawns on him that maybe he should come back a little harder to take the trailer. That’s Anderson’s hockey IQ at work. Radio Shack TRS 80.

And there was Hoffman's IQ ... instead of shooting it on the net, to get a faceoff and pull the goalie on a whistle , he dumps an easy dump in and it's easily cleared and in the empty net

That empty net goal never happens if Hoffman had a brain cell... he has the lowest hockey IQ on this team and that's saying something... but that's a Berg type player... dumb and stupid

The boys really did not generate much tonight. Winnipeg, having played the night before in Ottawa, did not exactly face a lot of hard shifts with high leverage situations.
Funny about the Jets, I know it is a small sample size over the years, but they seem to play a more committed team-oriented brand of hockey when the two compadres -- Scheifele and Wheeler -- are out of action. Could it be that subtracting laziness is actually addition by subtraction?
Montreal's management is going to have some interesting decisions to make about the guys in the age 30+ cohort on this roster.

Montreal's management is going to have some interesting decisions to make about the guys in the age 30+ cohort on this roster. Yup. And we have some interesting tweeners - guys like Dauphin who clearly aren't high-talent but have a nice lunch-pail work ethic which fits well with a rebuilding team Fans will enjoy seeing Dauphin give it his all, even in a losing cause, whereas a guy like Hoffman will give us a few highlight reel goals... and a lot of frustration otherwise.

That was too close for comfort. Monty, of all people, kept us in that game and I didn't breath a sigh of relief until the empty netter. Now only 9 games to go. If we lose 5 of them we should be OK.
I agree Hoffman's IQ is low, but Pitlick ain't far off. Marty finally moved him off Suze's line - guess he's seen enough. I know I have. A PP with Pitlick and Hoffman is not going to do well.
I thought Jesse had an active game but see he has been sent down to Laval. I'd be playing him as it's players like him that may be the future.

I agree about Ylonen.. he has shown great speed at times, and at one point he let go a bomb of a shot, he missed the net but I had no idea he could shoot like that. I'd put him on the top line with Suze and CC for a while, see if something gels. I was disappointed to see him sent down

He can be a go-to guy in Laval, get way more minutes and experience playoff hockey. I think sending him down this early is just to acclimate himself again and find his role on the team before the playoffs start. He's had a taste of the big time and that will propel him. I agree with the move, though I might have waited until there were 3 or 4 games left in the NHL season. The AHL regular season usual ends after the NHL one, but I'm not sure if that's the case this year.
