What's the point in signing a contract if you're not going to play? I'd go home, too. Lots of teams do this at different levels. They bring guys in to be around the team in a playoff atmosphere. He should of stayed. Who knows, he may be playing in Hamilton next season. Leaving the team showed poor judgement. PS - I was ready to cut him some slack because I figured he was a teenager but hockeydb.com shows that he turned 20 a couple of months ago.

What kind of an attitude is that? You're a junior invited to the farm team for the playoff and you request a roster spot or else boot out... Can you see Carle saying "play me or else I'll stay in friggin' Rouyn-Noranda"... He would be crucified on Team 990 everyday for the next 20 years... ...I am so fed up of those guys... It's like we were talking about in another thread, Doc. Can't put my finger on what the cause is but there's something not right with the Russians in the system. It's like they're spooked or something. In this case it looks as if someone has told the kid, "... don't take any crap from this organization." I don't follow other teams but I have to ask whether this is a league-wide pattern or if it's isolated solely to Montreal. Somehow I don't think I'll like the findings. Cheers.

I know one of Tampa's prospect (can't remember the name but he is a Gandler's customer) has chosen to stay in Russia as well.
Also, when you look at the Russia National team, you see names there that were once in the NHL so the problem is not just Montreal related. They can make a decent pay in Russia, get good icetime and be closer to home in an enrionment that is most probably more familiar to them. I wouldn't search much deeper than that. Drafting Russian was already a more complicated business because of the lenghty adaptation period many have to go through and now you have to add money issues, transfer rights, icetime requirements, etc... Frankly, aside from can't miss like Overchkin, Semin, Kovalchuck, Radulov, etc... I think many GMs will show great caution with drafting these guys...

Off the top of my head ... 1) Semin bailed on Washington and went back to Russia for a year 2) Morozov is n ow playing in Russia and entertaining offers to come back. 3) Evgeny Artyukhin bailed on Tampa and is now playing in Russia

i can argue either side, he should have stayed yes, but he's a young kid, 20 is still young, it may be his last year to go home and see his family in russia before he turns pro and possibly is playing in june year after year for the habs.

It really will be time for a good dunking.

too bad we have such a great Russian scout. Could be a horrible waste. no doubt, i feel like we're back in the early 80's before they began playing in the nhl. we have some good ones, and one by one they're going. hope markov isn't next.

I don't know where SK is physically, but last night he was listed as a healthy scratch (his name is still on the roster). Carle and a number of call-ups from Cincy were also listed as scratches.

He is in Hamilton or someone that looks a lot like him cause a couple people have told me they saw him and talked to him.

How I hope it's true! There's been too much negativity concerning the roster for my liking. It's just too early for this. Come July 1st and the players are abandoning the team like rats ditching a sinking ship, then by all means. In fact, I'll take my spot as Mr. Uber Cranky's co-pilot on the bandwagon like last summer.
