Caufield's second goal, his 22nd, and 42nd point ....ties him with Paul Meger, Jacques Lemaire, and Valeri Bure for 21st on the Habs all time rookie scoring list When Caufield scores I look here to see your updates. I enjoy reading them and seeing his progress. Thanks for posting. Finishing off the year on young Caufield... Caufield's third goal, his first career hat trick, was his 23rd goal and 43rd point ... ties him with John Chabot for 20th on the all time Habs rookie scoring list The last Habs rookie to score a hat trick was Ryan Poehling (in the season before his rookie season).

The first time I'd read that opinion. Hard to disagree. Was it enough to garner a nomination?

I think voters look at his age (26) his pro experience and the padding of his stats by playing with Matthews and Marner. He leads in points because he's alongside a sixty goal scores and a winger with 97 points. His competition has almost the same amount of points without any of his advantages. My choice is Seider. He started the season at 20 years old and is playing defense, the more difficult position. And he's doing it on a losing team. He led all rookies in assists and finished the season with 50 points.

I dont want him to get it... On to more important things... that 2nd CC goal was magical... now hes not going up against top D men but it's part of the learning curve he needs to go on to become the player we need him to be

But … In the 37 games under St. Louis, Caufield had 22 goals and 35 points. That prorates to 49 goals and 77 points. The Calder conversation wouldn’t have even be a close one if Ducharme just let the kids play. Every Hab fan knew that this year wasn’t about winning. It’s too bad Ducharme was more old school than new school

Ducharme turned out to be a Julien disciple in the worst sense. How could a smart guy put his best sniper on the fourth line and only occasionally on the second wave of the power play?
I imagine there will be a built in bias against Bunting, which I am perfectly fine with. It should be Seider.
