London wins 4-3 in the shootout. Mailloux gets one in regulation and also one in the shootout, but not the GWG.

Mešár with two assists in the Rangers 8-4 loss.
And the star of the night was easily Joshua Roy. Sherbrooke won 5-1 and he was in on all five goals. A hattrick night and two assists.

Rohrer vs Beck was a beauty. Beck had two helpers in the loss, and Rohrer had a 1+1 game including a beauty of an OT GWG. Speed, hands, finish…the whole nine yards. The Mississauga Stealheads are in town on Sunday, and I'll probably be there ... been following Owen Beck closely through this board, and I'm hoping to see him strut his stuff against the non-contending, Kingston Frontenacs ... Heineman never quits on the play for his first SHL goal this year early in game two since returning from injury. The only goal of the game so far.

A big day for prospects in Sweden.
In addition to opening the scoring, Heineman finished the game with the GWG in a SO.
And a Habs goalie prospect goalie goal. A GWG too, without even shooting it on net (an own goal, but he will take it!). Frölunda advance to the next Champions League round with the win.
And Engström returned to the men’s side as the 7D in Champions League play and added an assist to help Rögle come from behind and advance to the next round on aggregate goals after coming in trailing.

A couple more prospects also had two goal games. Roy scored twice and was the first star for the second straight game in a 4-1 Phoenix win.
Out west, Davidson netted a pair in a 4-2 Seattle win over Kelowna.
Mississauga came up short in a 6-2 loss to Sarnia, but Beck did score one of their two goals.

A pair of assists for Farrell in a 4-4 Harvard-Michigan tie. Here he is #21 doing most of the work on Thrun’s second of the night.
Guindon with two assists in a 4-3 SO loss. Davidson added a goal in another Seattle win, 6-1. Over in Slovakia, Tourigny had a goal and assist in a 2-1 extra time win. His goal was the GWG for Dukla Trenčín.

Some news from Europe yesterday. Engström scored his second SHL goal in a Rögle win. Kapanen played 20:55 and had an assist in a 3-2 win for KalPa. Both seem to be in fine form leading into what should be WJC camp season soon.

Beck with three assists and first star in a 5-3 win. #92 in white.
Mešár had a pair of assists in a big 8-4 Rangers win over Erie. Davidson added an assist out west. Kidney had a SH goal and an assist in an 4-3 SO loss and Roy scored the GWG in a 2-1 win.

Petteri Nurmi (7th round, 2022) picked up another assist today for HPK in the Liiga. He is a 20 year old LHD who plays top line pairing for his men’s team in Finland top league and also was on the top pairing at the last couple of WJC including the summer one, until he had to sit out due to mono. He has 6 points in 13 games and he averages about 20 minutes a game in Liiga play.

Assuming he is being a good human being off the ice, at this point Montreal may as well just keep Mailloux and develop him in Laval next season. It is not as though the organization has a ton of quality kids on the right side. Barron may not turn out to be more than a third pair guy (which would still be an upgrade on Wideman).
I suppose, given his usage at Northeastern, that Harris could flip back to the right side in the future. A hockey grandpa that I see often at the rink said that Harris could take the trajectory of another NCAA product, Nate Schmidt, and be a lefty who can play second pair minutes on the right side. I would be elated if Harris has a ceiling like that.

Sherbrooke were on the road this week and played B2B the last two nights. On Wednesday, they lost 5-4 in the shootout and Roy had two goals and an assist. Last night, they fell 4-3 in regulation and he had two more assists.
Kidney had an assist in his game last night.
The under-rated Guindon continued his hot season with two more goals including the GWG in a 5-2 Owen Sound win. Top five in OHL scoring!

Lots of kids in action last night, but you had to look to the NCAA for points and highlights. So here we go.
Pitlick potted one of their five goals as Minnesota won 5-0.
Farrell wins it in OT and assists on Harvard’s only goal in regulation. Nice night out!
BU win 6-3 and Tuch added an assist and his teammate Hutson had a trio of assists. Here he starts the play and does most of the transition work for this goal. #20 in white/red.

And it is Teddy Bear Toss season again. Cue up Davy Gravy with the first goal, and actual GWG. Boom!

A recap of Sunday’s action.
The highlight was a London-Mississauga tilt with Mailloux vs Beck. Mailloux ended up with a 1+1 night and the 5-4 London win, and Beck ended up with an assist in the loss.
Rohrer returned from injury yesterday sporting a full visor on his bucket, and he contributed a goal and assist in Ottawa’s 6-2 win. Owen Sound list 5-3 to SSM, but Guindon had an assist in the game.
