A goal and two helpers for Mešár in a 8-1 Rangers win after canning their coach. He has been in a good tear of late.

Davidson with #28 and 29 last night as Seattle welcomed Dylan Guenther to the lineup with a big win over Red Deer.
Over in Finland, Kapanen scored yesterday for KalPa in their win. He now has points in 8 of his last ten games in the top Finnish league. He is second in scoring for junior players in Liiga.

And here are Mešár’s two assists last night ( on goals #2 and 3 for Kitchener). The assist on the Rangers second goal was an absolute beauty. I am just watching that game on replay and he was flying out there. He is playing with so much more confidence and jump these last few games.

Bit early for the 2024 draft, but there's this kid, Mack Celebrini, playing for the USHL Chicago Steel, who scored 5 goals tonight against the US NDP team. His numbers are 35-27-62 in 37 games and those are the best numbers by a 16 year old in USHL history except for Jack Hughes.

Tuch scored in both of BU’s wins this weekend against Vermont. Hutson assisted on last night’s goal. Their regular season is over, playoffs await.

Engström with a nice assist in Rögle’s loss yesterday. In Finland, Kapanen scored his 11th of the season today and 25th point in his 50th Liiga game this season. Pretty decent numbers for a U20 player in a stingy defensive league.

His numbers are 35-27-62 in 37 games and those are the best numbers by a 16 year old in USHL history except for Jack Hughes. Okay, I’ll bite 😉. USHL watchers are blessed seeing what are likely the top two picks (as of now, as lots can change) in the 2024 draft. Along with Canadian Celebrini with the Steel, Cole Eiserman plays for the NDTP team and is on pace to actually beat Caufield’s single season goal record. He along with teammate Hagens (a 2025 draft eligible due to late birthday) tore up the World U17 challenge earlier this year. Eiserman, Hagens and Hutson (the younger) have been called up from the U17 team to the U18 team. I fully expect Eiserman will stick around and be part of the U18 team the USA takes to the U18 worlds in April. By the way, NDTP games (both U18 and U17 teams) that are home games are streamed and archived on the NDTP webpage. Just in case anyone wants to catch Smith, Leonard, Perreault, Moore, Nelson, Eiserman, etc. in action. They have both the USHL home games and those where they host NCAA squads.

Hutson up to 41 points in 32 games in his freshman year with two goals in the BU win last night. Some nifty work in tight and an intentional bank off the goalie for the first one.

In Slovakia, undersized defender Tourigny had a goal and two helpers in a 4-3 win.
Mešár, Beck and Guindon all had an assist in their OHL tilts.
Roy scored his 34th of the year and added an apple in a 7-2 Phoenix win.

Hutson with two helpers in his last regular season game. That is a historic 43 points in 33 games. BU also won Hockey East, so they go into the conference playoffs on a high. Nice primary assist here. #20 in rouge.

I didn't want to start a new thread yet since it's too early for the draft, so I'm adding this here. I am listening to Bob McCown's podcast and Doug Armstrong, the Blues GM is the guest. I have been critical of him in the past, but his comments are very reasonable and I'm thinking he's a better GM than I gave him credit for.
The Blues have 3 first round picks in this year's draft, but two will be late...Leafs and Rangers. Their own is 9th at this time. Armstrong was asked about a rebuild and mentioned that you could finish last and still end up in a bad draft year and get nothing toward your rebuild (so true, but that's not a comment about Slaf). He was asked about what his scouts thought of this year's draft and he said the top 3 were obvious and that the next tier went 4 through 12 or 13, though Michkov was a wild card (which is why he didn't include him in the top tier). The interesting thing is that he said the next group was also stronger than usual. This was interesting because I've read other comments, which I now don't believe, that said the 2nd tier wasn't as strong as other drafts. Perhaps those people were big on size, because this year's draft has a large number of very highly skilled, albeit smaller, prospects.
It was good to hear the Blues scouts thought this was a good, deep draft because they have a good record of scouting and should know what they're talking about. 7th and 12th should serve us very well and with some lottery luck, who knows? I also wouldn't be disappointed if Michkov fell to 7 (or 6 if Vancouver gets their act together, though I don't think their owner allows them to pick Michkov as he wants to win now rather than later).
