Midway through the 2nd, Bruins lead 2-0 on goals by Coyle & Hall. No Bergeron OR Krecji in the lineup.

Boston wins without Bergeron and Krejci. I guess Lyon turned into a pumpkin.
The Islanders' brand of hockey can be tedious, but there is no denying they have stones.

How is Dubois doing? Looks like he only had one shot in the second game. Of course I want the Jets out ASAP so they fantasize about their rebuild. scoring at a 1 ppg pace so far. He's looked good in the short stints I've watched that series.

Things getting a little spicy in Minnesota as Evason calls diving on the Stars. Kind of funny, though, to see Foligno calling them divers as he's led to the box for an embellishment penalty.

Oilers lose in OT again, while killing a penalty...again. Controversy there as the Ollers claim Vilardi had touched the puck with a high stick before the winning goal. It was reviewed and stood. Considering today's technology, "inconclusive" on such a play is quickly becoming "unacceptable". Here's an angle the TV crew had. Start at 2:05. Put your player at 25% speed. The puck is still on its arced left upward path when the stick blade blocks its view. The puck stops its original trajectory and heads straight down before hitting Ekholm's back and deflecting a bit to the left. Physics 101. Unless Vilardi's blade emanates a rubber force field, repelling the puck without actual contact--the Oilers got ripped. They HAVE to get these calls correct. Every goal is important in the playoffs, let alone an OT winner that could swing a series.

True, I think EDM got screwed. But for the second time, LA gets the tying and winning goals on the PP. Draisaitl's penalty in particular, was just selfish and stupid.

1-0 for Vegas early. Stephenson scores on the 1st shot of the game on a goal that looked a lot like the one Hall scored last night.

Jets come back to tie it in the final minute...then Dubois takes what might have been a game-saving tripping penalty on Stone.
Knights on the PP to start the OT.

With no Ehlers and no Morrissey, the Jets rose up and erased the 4-1 deficit and the game is going to OT. Unfortunately for Winnipeg, Vegas will have a power play to start the sudden death session.
The Golden Knights may well prevail in this series, but with the motley crew of goalies (Brossoit, Quick, Thompson, Hill) on their roster I have no idea how anyone would actually consider them a Stanley Cup contender, notwithstanding the #1 seed they managed to eke out in the West.

I'm surprised at the number of quality guys injured so early in the playoffs. Hedman & Cernak, Krejci & Bergeron, Terevainen, Pavelski and now Morissey.
I hate to see teams lose because of injuries, especially those of Cernak and Pavelski who were victims of questionable hits.

Feel bad for the Jets after the nice comeback, in particular that rookie d-man who needed to make a tape to tape pass there and unfortunately plunked it off a Vegas skate and onto the blade of the game winning sniper.
Goals coming fast and furious down in Tampa.

The refs were brutal in the second period. Missed a clear high stick in the neutral zone to Point's face, inexplicably saw Colton get viciously cross-checked to the face after the whistle and declined to call a five minute major, and then with no logic behind the decision blew the play dead when Point scored and Samsonov never showed any sign he came close to covering the puck.
I know it is a hard job, but sometimes it almost seems impossible that so many pivotal decisions are butchered by that many sets of 'professionally trained' eyes.

Rielly shoves Point into the end boards. Looks like a rib injury.
Review to see if it was a boarding major. Nope. Not even a minor. In fact, the Leafs get a PP out of the aftermath which saw Stamkos and Matthews pair off.
Lots of animosity now.

CH I'm sure, like me, you remember a series against the Islanders where Roberts boarded Kenny Jonsson from behind & Tucker destroyed Mike Peca's knee. Who says whining to the refs doesnt work. Ever since they accused Wes McCauley of bias things, no matter how blatant go their way.

I am okay with the way refs sorted out the unfortunate Point into the boards play. But the three egregious calls that favored the Leafs in the second period are seriously hard to believe. The zebras are having a very bad night.

Tampa played a good 50 minutes and for long stretches carried the play. But it just feels like they ran out of gas, maybe too little depth on the d-corps. If the Leafs has any killer instinct, I would say this game is now theirs for the taking.

Vasilevskiy needed to make that save. Squeezed through the 6-hole.
Samsonov has been great tonight...and is likely the reason it's gone to OT. He made several big saves when down 3-2.

It may have. I thought it fluttered through near post.
But anyway, I think the Leafs are in the driver seat now. Tampa needs to win this game or I think they may not find much traction in this series moving forward.

Hate to say it, but after all these SCF runs and deserving to win tonight (refs botched the game in the second period), it just feels like the Lightning are spent and out of answers.

I wouldn't write them off yet . They looked damned good in game one. And they did have 40 shots tonight.
But I'm afraid the Leaf cheap shots are taking their toll. Cernak likely wont be back and who knows about Point. Plus that old Vasilevsky magic is gone. Two goals in the final minutes of periods? Used to be unheard of.
Despite all the breaks they got tonight, the Leafs still needed almost 80 minutes to pull ahead. You mentioned killer instinct, I dont think they have it. They are playing a team with major pieces missing & still just getting by.

Lehky with another 2 assists in a 6-3 Avs win. He sets up the first Avs goal to narrow the score to 2-1 and then wirh Seattle pressing, he steals the puck st centre and makes a nice pass to Rantanen for the EN clincher. He’s such a winner.
The main takeaway is ELITE talent. McKinnon, Makar and Rantanen came to play.

Lehkonen is an elite defensive talent. He should be getting Selke consideration.
