There's now video out of Dubas trash talking TB fans. Maybe this jackass should wait until he actually wins something. The bar is so low in Toronto.

Reporters are part of the problem. They become fans which naturally makes them lousy reporters.
What always gets me is their stunningly short memories. I guess Arthur has already forgotten how bad Samsonov was in game one. And he's forgotten that they were up 2-1 last year.
EDIT: I was referring to your post CH. Now it's gone.😀

Lehkonen is an elite defensive talent. He should be getting Selke consideration. He's really good at putting opponents in awkward offensive situations, taking away time and space. Subtle stuff. I don't know who votes for the Selke but they focus way too much on points.

This series, and playoff year, is crucial to Dubas. I think he's done a good job of putting together the right players around the team stars, to fill in the holes on the team. The bottom 6 is much better than in the past. ROR is exactly what they needed and he proved it last night. Last year, they lose that game. This year, it's a win. We might dislike the 'centre of the universe' crowd and their cheering media, but the Leafs are a pretty good team. Caveat - Goaltending was really good last night and that has been a question mark for too long.

Every GM is emotionally involved with his team . It doesn't mean you get into arguments with fans during a game. And save the trash talking for when you actually win something.
They needed every break yesterday including some dubious calls in the 2nd period & still barely squeaked it out. He needed to shut up and leave the building.

In a play identical to the Point goal that was disallowed, the Bruins Marchand pokes it in as the whistle sounds. This one counts. I'm really starting to hate this make it up as you go along league. Certain teams are just favored by the refs

The Jacobs family (Boston) wields a lot of influence. That’s politically correct languages for “runs the league”.

Certain teams are just favored by the refs Late in the season in Carolina, the Leafs scored a goal like this. Matthews put it in after the whistle but it was deemed a good goal. As you say, it's very much " make it up as you go along" and makes the league look bush.

Bobrovsky is doing his best impression of a beer leaguer this afternoon. He used his catching glove like a tennis racket on Boston's fourth goal.

Only Bergevin and his bud Dale Tallon were "smart" enough to reward 30 year old goalies with $10+ million AAV long-term contracts.

I remember Patrick Lalime doing something similar in a Sens Leafs game 7. Instead of blockering away a short side shot he reached across his body with his trapper. Of course he missed & the floodgates opened.

According to capfriendly Bobbrovsky only has 3 years left. He'll be 37 by then.

Yeah, I think I remember that one. The thing with Bobrovsky is that it was glove side so how he mangled it so badly seems hard to fathom.
And what the flip with Tkachuk bumping and after the whistle pushing Ullmark. The great yapper gets jumped by Carlo, turtles, and has the linesman rescue him. And he gets up and goes back after Ullmark. I always thought hockey code was such that when a ref compels an opponent to get off you/stop punching you then you cannot cruise over and engage a different opponent. What a d-bag.

Florida’s hopes went down the toilet when Ekblad was injured. Boston’s good luck continues. Huh? They are playing without Bergeron & Krecji, their top 2 centers. Tough luck. Losing those two was just partially evening the 'luck' score for having so little adversity during the regular season. They don't deserve more with the Ekblad injury. Panthers are hardly a tough assignment when fully healthy. Florida's goaltending had their best result of the series in the game they won, with a .919 save percentage. Every other game has been below .900. I'd like to see how Boston handles .920+ goaltending.

There hasn't been much .920 save percentage this year. Anything over .915 is considered good this year.

Huge win for Edmonton. Going down 3-1 would have been devastating. Tremendous outlet pass from Bouchard from just past his own net to Hyman at the Kings blue line.

Lafferty of Toronto gets fined by the league for cross checking Colton, a play for which he only received a minor. Is this the league telling the referees they screwed up?

For sure, the Lafferty cross check should have been a five minute major every day of the week. The ref blew it. The refs had a crazy bad second period, stealing a goal from Point when Samsonov had no idea where the puck was. And there was an obvious high stick to Point's chin in the neutral zone. And yet many if not most Leafs fans are card carrying members of the cult of victimization and persecution.
Yeah, that was an entertaining game between the Kings and Oilers. I am sure Korpisalo would like to have back that OT goal. I mean Hyman is not a plug or anything but he is not exactly Ovechkin so getting beat over the blocker short side is kind of disappointing.

I disagree on the two goals last night (which resulted in different decisions). In the past, when a goalie looked like he had the puck covered, whether or not he knew where it was, the refs usually blew the whistle fairly quickly as they too had lost sight of the puck. It also helped prevent scrums and injuries. Point's goal was taken away (correctly IMO), but Marchand's goal was allowed, even though it appeared to me that it was an even longer event where no one could see where the puck was. Marchand was just poking away. He had no idea where it was, and got lucky (Yet again). Neither goal should have counted.

IMO if the puck is just laying there it's fair game. I'd have no problem with both goals counting.
I've looked at Hyman's goal a couple of times. It looked to me like the puck squeezed between the arm & body of Korpisalo.
Goals like that seem more common in the age of smaller goalie equipment.

Folatre, the leader of that cult of victimization is at the top - Dubas. His behavior enables Keefe to air his ref manipulation fantasy & for Tavares to go to a press conference & complain about how all the calls go against them.

Goals like that seem more common in the age of smaller goalie equipment. funny that they're wanting more goals but still allowing the equipment they do. they need to continue the "re-size".
