The Habs-Frölunda connection is still alive today. Norlinder is a recent graduate of their SHL team and young Danish goaltending prospect Frederic Dichow is their current backup and having a very good start to the season.

Poor Jake, he must have been naughty because Marty is like Santa Clause and stuck him with those 2 lumps of coal

Well, I would file all these sort of decisions as 'not so important' in the grand scheme of things. But man, I cannot understand the logic of low-energy skilled vet wingers playing on the fourth line.
The Dadonov news made me smile, though I am not quite sure why. Maybe it was because my son was griping the other day about even though he has been playing well on the third line the coach never gives him any shifts on the second line. I think I will tell him that if he was on an impoverished roster then he could actually play poorly and move up in the lineup (e.g. Dadonov).

Folatre, tell your son to change his number to 68 or 11. He'll get PP time without having to actually score a goal.

Wraparound by Suzuki poorly played by Kuemper. 1-0 Habs.

Best chance in their PP goes to Washington. If the coaches aren't learning anything about running a PP, how is Slafkovsky supposed to learn by watching it?
They are still running at 0% for the season.

They are still running at 0% for the season. Put guhle and Axe in the pp and watch the puck movement... wideman is like Hoffman... does nothing particularly well... very Meh...

Montembault with 2 questionable goals allowed. Now 2-1 Caps.
Oshie on the PP makes it 3-1. Could be worse. Ovechkin had a goal called back for offside in the 1st.

Oh boy, Dadanov and Hoffman killing a penalty.

That’s to be expected. What I love is all of Bergevin’s desperation moves being shown to be incredibly stupid errors. Signing Hoffman is yet one more. Bergevin was an idiot put into a position he could not handle, but thought he was the best at it. What a dork. We suffered and the hurts not over yet but there is light at the end of a long tunnel.

Oh boy, Dadanov and Hoffman killing a penalty. Maybe MSL hopes they get frustrated and walk away... have them help the equipment manager, that'll do it

Oh boy, Dadanov and Hoffman killing a penalty. I have a ton of respect for MSL but I do wonder about his personnel mgmt, not withstanding most of his personnel are useless plugs

I think I will tell him that if he was on an impoverished roster then he could actually play poorly and move up in the lineup (e.g. Dadonov). I'd take it easy on Marty for a while. The real problem is that there are too many players (especially wingers) who are badly suited for their role. This is the team building part and it's up to Hughes to fix that problem. In the meantime, MSL is stuck with what he has. Players who are unsuited for their roles and we just have to suffer through it. In time, Hughes will trade a few guys and the puzzle will resolve itself. Until then, just focus on the guys in the right spots and how they are doing.

What was Gallagher doing there? He crosschecked Dowd from behind after the game was over.

Gallagher is quite involved out there, which is nice to see. Clearly he is moving better this season. The problem is good scoring chances are being left on the table because his shot just does not threaten NHL goalies. If he was more of a playmaker, then it would not matter so much.
I know management and coaches want to get Gallagher off to a good start. And part of this effort means giving him ample power play time. But man, the other team is just not going to worry much about a guy with a muffin shot playing the bumper position.
