"The tournament was a round-robin format. After all the games the RCAF Flyers were in a tie with Czechoslovakia and were awarded the Gold medal on a better goal average. The team showed great poise and confidence throughout the tournament, despite the partisan officiating and spectators who threw snowballs at them." - Canadian Sports Hall of Fame

I'm guessing the practice wasn't so "optional" for Hoffman, Dadonov, and Jo

It will be nice to see Edmundson in there. Wideman should play very rarely if at all going forward.
I was pleased to see that Evans is slated to play tonight. I was worried about him after that fight in Minnesota. I am less pleased to see Slafkovsky is still stuck with Evans and Pitlick.
Montembeault is off to a great start this season, so I am sure he wants to keep it going.

Going back through the seasons of our last 4-5 coaches, would any have not chosen a kid to sit?

Did the NHL change the company they use for pucks or the galvanized rubber??? The pucks this year are way more bouncy

You have to laugh. I wonder how long it will take for MSL to learn that Montreal pretty much never gets the 50-50 call

Is Chris Lee reffing this game remotely?

The refs and the control room just make things up from scratch on a nightly basis.
Why is Pitlick in the lineup? He has four or five stupid minors in only seven games this season. That would be borderline excessive if he was a forechecking force and/or a rugged dude playing on the edge and making opponents keep their heads up. Unfortunately, none of those things are part of his game. The basic reason for all these penalties speak to his laziness and lack of defensive awareness.

Monty with another great game. Could he be the one?
The more I watch this season the more I realize Dmen are not our issue. The forwards are just awful. After Suze's line we got nothin'. None of these guys, despite their top 6 status can score (Gally, Josh, Monahan) many make stupid plays (Armia, Pitlick, Dvo), and some are down right lazy (Drouin, Hoffman, Davidnov). Which begs the question: why doesn't Marty play around with the bottom 9 and get Slafs some more TOI - he cannot be any less effective offensively, nor can he make any greater bonehead moves.
Meanwhile, once Matheson gets back and Kravs sits, we have a solid 6 dmen with no liabilities. By the way, great to see Wideman sitting.

Xman looks more impressive with every game. The guy is big, strong and can skate. He also has a good head for the game. He's actually surprisingly cocky with the puck, particularly he just a rookie. That all makes for a solid dman. And given he is also always a presence is very impressive. I'm thinking Pietrangelo!
Anyone else getting the impression that other teams do not want to engage with Xman. I know when I watch this season I am much more comfortable than in many years knowing we have an answer. Sure we had Weber but he was rarely actually going to drop them, and he seemed to mellow as he got older.
Good to see X getting some good PP time tonight. He made one gaff trying to beat a Jet when he was the last man back but he'll learn. I suspect he may have never played the PP before.
