Good memories, taking down Vegas in the conference finals was sweet.
The Golden Knights are the hottest team in the NHL at the moment. Their underdog goalie is playing lights out. The defense is very good. Eichel has settled in. Whoever is in net for Habs (Allen, I presume) will have to be sharp. And it would be nice if the boys could begin to find some sources of secondary scoring on a more regular basis.

I guess kasavecic was so bad that wideman is replacing him

I don't know. Kovacevic was certainly not good the last couple of games. But seeing Wideman in the lineup does nothing for me. My basic opinion about smallish d-men who lose physical battles and struggle with gap control is that they have to either drive offense or be a power play specialist in order to be regular in the NHL. Wideman does neither, which is why #7-8 seems his proper role.

Slafkovsky on the fourth line shows MSL’s unwillingness to think outside the box to get the guy some developmental TOI Here’s how you do it Marty Slaf to second line, Gallagher to third line , Hoffman to fourth line

I guess kasavecic was so bad that wideman is replacing him K was that bad with some bad turnovers. Having said that, it really is pick your poison. Neither is legit top 6. However it wouldn't surprise me to see Marty rotating most of the D in and out of the line-up. That doesn't bother me for as good as Harris, Guhle and X have been, they need rest as they have never played this much hockey at such an intense level. I also think it will do the rookies good to watch from the stands every now and then. Have each sit every four or five games.

Monahan has to wonder what he did to get the two laziest wingers in the league. They should be really frustrating to watch, let alone playing between the two duds.

I wish we had an Eric Cole... Patches learned so much from him.

Armia playing well to start, but man, don’t turn a 2 on 1 into a 1 on 1.

Dvorak blocks a shot and is hurting. Typical. One of our prime trade assets other teams are interested in and he’s hurt.

Sigh Anderson. Great opportunity for a transition chance and instead of headmanning the puck he decides to carry it instead and backcheckers catch up. Not the sharpest.

A bad pass by Eddy and a great pass by Dach, and it’s 1-1.

Good, entertaining twenty minutes of hockey. Aside from Edmundson tossing that unfortunate pizza up the middle of ice, the boys played smart hockey. It will be interesting to see if Cassidy and St. Louis try to put up more road blocks to the speed their opposition is generating through the neutral zone or if they are trusting the high tempo will benefit their team.

Hoffman's stick ...where scoring chances and odd man rushes go to die

I missed the beginning but I think the Miller thing may be what prompted it.
I found an article quoting Bettman on this & put it in the out of town thread. He sounds pretty ticked.

Edmunston caught way out in the neutral zone on that goal. Left Harris high and dry.

Hoffman's stick ...where scoring chances and odd man rushes go to die He really is incredibly useless this year. He's playing out the string. Frankly, I'd send him down to Laval (waiver clearing is a gimme) just to punish him for having such poor character. When he's out there, we're playing shorthanded. It's completely unfair to his linemates and defense pairing to have him on the ice.

Anderson, Dvorak and Gallagher were out there and you know who I'd prefer to pin it on of the 3. He also happens to be the most likely of the 3 forwards to be defensively blind.

Wideman is physically incapable of playing good enough defense.

Edmundson is a liability out there tonight .... he must have 4 giveaways in the defensive zone Not unreasonable given how little he’s played in the last 2 seasons. Hes a solid #4 Dman normally
