Listening to MOJO today on my way into Toronto, and Fergie Jr. saying he'll trade only if it makes sense, and that if nothing happens, "we're content with what we have." So am I, Fergie. No Cup for you! One fan called in to ask, "How do we get the CBC to turn up the crowd sound so we can hear EDDIE EDDIE a lot better?" Leaf fans of every ilk planning the parade route again after shutting out the Devils on Saturday night. One guy called in and said, "If Eddie's healthy, we're goin' all the way to the Finals, baby. With Kidd or Tellqvist, it's a first round exit." Bill Watters agreed. I almost called in and said, "Uh...excuse me...you had a healthy Eddie last year.....first round exit."

I almost called in and said, "Uh...excuse me...you had a healthy Eddie last year.....first round exit." You seriously should have, man. The Leafs with this current roster are not going to go very far. If Nolan stinks up the joint, and if both Sundin and Mogilny are under close watch, they're not going to score many goals. I mean, they were outdueled in goal by freakin' ROMAN CECHMANEK. Even LA is not pleased with him.

I don't know if it's because they're screened out, or they're just sickened by the love-fest and don't bother. Besides, I know what I would have been hit with, "But this year we have Nieuwendyk, Klee, Marchment, Stajan, blah blah blah."

They have too many 'tough guys' on that team, too. They have a bunch of baffoons who take stupid and needless penalties, not to mention that their coach constantly makes excuses for why they lose games. This is mostly why the Leafs have virtually reached a plateau and will never get any higher.
Same with the Blues and the Flyers. They're good teams, but are lacking in certain areas in order to go the extra mile.

Toronto fans have a " what have you done for me lately " attitude. Forget the 3 straight losses. Belfour gets an easy shutout ( 17 shots) and now everything is OK.

If he honestly thinks the leafs as is are getting to the finals he either has less knowledge than I thoght or he is a shameless homer.

No matter what we think of the Leafs you can't let your hatred discount them.Weak on D for sure but if healthy and that is a big IF they don't have to make any deals. You'll have to hope the eagle goes down to discount them altogether no matter how it pains me to say it.
But why are we talking about the Leafs we shouldn't care what they do.Let the Leaf fans obssess what we do rather than the other way around.
The boys are playing well now but they need help to give them a good shot at winning any rounds. HFTO

True, Phil. Also, given their age, there's a stronger likelihood of injuries than with younger players. So even if Belfour doesn't go down, the loss of Roberts, for example would hurt them big time.

... "If Eddie's healthy, we're goin' all the way to the Finals, baby. With Kidd or Tellqvist, it's a first round exit." Bill Watters agreed. I find that strange because last month or so on Sportsnet Hockey Central, Bill and Nick were asked "What backup in the NHL should be a No. 1?". Care to take a guess at his answer? Trevor Kidd!!! What a difference a month makes.

If he honestly thinks the leafs as is are getting to the finals he either has less knowledge than I thoght or he is a shameless homer. IMO he's both. He's been flapping his gums on TV/radio for years. I remember a panel show he did on TSN with John Wells more than 10 years ago. If his head wasn't so far up his own a$$, he'd have his feet in his mouth on a regular basis.
