As a kid, I hated the Bruins far and away more than any other rival, though I also had a healthy revulsion for the Flyers and the Nordiques. The Battle of Quebec in the playoffs was off the charts intense.

The Battle of Quebec in the playoffs was off the charts intense. Same teams for me back then--honorable mention to the Leafs. When I think of the 93 Cup, I recall Round 1 vs. Quebec. Down 2-0 and needed OT (our 1st of 10 OTW) in Game 3. My favourite vs. the Nords....Muller, Game 5 at le Colisee, putting us up 3-2 going home. Hextall looked bad, and I always liked it when he was off his game (as he usually also went off his rocker). Just over 8:00 into OT, and that was our 1st shot--as Dick Irvin mentions. For some reason, Racicot was in net for 18:14 (his only appearance in those playoffs) and allowed 2 goals on 9 shots. Roy made 35 saves on 37 shots. Quebec scored 3 of their 4 goals in the second period...so Racicot must have played then. I forget the circumstances surrounding that.

I think Roy was injured but came back for the 3rd.

The Habs welcome Lehky back to the Bell Centre tonight (Lars Eller too, but he has played there a few times since his trade ages ago).
Lines at practice. Okay…
Barron in a regular jersey. MSL will have to make a decision on D.

Ouch, I mean wonderful. Seven of our 12 forwards are actual AHL players or AHL quality (and I've not included Ylonen!). Ok, It might actually be more if one adds Drouin and Hoffman to that group. Is our team ever going to look different next year!

The concept of a strong core of young players all developing and learning together at the same time under a positive coach does have some positive consequences of developing strong bonds…like injured guys hanging around at practice all the time!

So true. These guys are close. They're good guys and they like hanging together.

These sorts of things start at the top, so to even out the balance of criticisms I levied at Geoff Molson regarding his extension to Bergie (which was deserved), I have to give him a ton of credit for hiring Jeff Gorton. Molten gold flows downhill just like the other stuff. Gorton re-organizes, hires Hughes and various other quality people and good things happen. That culture of togetherness is not an accident.

Was visibly shaken but kept playing In Game 5, the first shot of the second period by Hough was high on Roy and got him right in the same shoulder. He collapsed to the ice, the trainers came out, and Racicot went in net. Roy eventually returned Fast forward to about the 43 minute mark

According to the NHL Network, Suzuki has new wingers tonight -- Pitlick and Gurianov. I suppose that coach cannot be faulted too much for mixing things up because the first line with Harvey-Pinard and Ylonen was not getting much done. Of course, given the chemistry Harvey-Pinard and Anderson seemed to have. Going all in to win would seemingly place those two with Suzuki. But maybe management has 'suggested' going with suboptimal line compositions in order to get a look at different guys.

Lehky's glove on the PP. 4-0.
Is there any sense in putting Monty in to start the 2nd?
I doubt it would make a bit of difference in this one...except to Jake's stats.

Lehks makes it 4 zip. Not sure why certain quebeckers cheer for the Avs like it's somehow a reflection of the Nordiques. Those days are gone boys
