Do we even have a shot in the third? Ha!
Only Monty's been keeping us in this one.
A single point for the Isles puts the e in Penguins.
I think I heard it mentioned that, other than Crosby's rookie season, he's made the playoffs every year since.

For sure, unless Parise weighs like 115 lbs that one looks a little suspicious.

How does Lee not get called for a trip there?
Right in front of the ref.
Don't want to spoil the party, I suppose.

When they do a goals of thd year show that has to be top of the list. It should also be required viewing to show the opposite ends of the spectrum. Suzuki working very hard and whoever the Isles defenseman was, being too dumb or too lazy to notice that Suzuki was going to beat him to the puck if he didn't start moving his legs. I have no idea what that guy was thinking. I keep referring back to Craig Rivet not processing that Mats Sundin was moving kinda fast and maybe he too should skate harder to angle Sundin into the boards. Instead, Sundin powered around him and scored. Rivet was dead to me after that. Hockey IQ avoids a lot of problems. I also want to thank Craig because we got a haul for him. Eight years of Max Pacioretty and then our Captain for the next however many years. (chef's kiss)

Nice jumping embellishment from Parise to sweeten that call. File this under completely useless trivia The Islanders won their first playoff series in 1975. The series winning goal was by Zach Parise’s father.

EDIT: To add to the story... Here's a short feature on that series win...with the highlight of the goal. Good story. That young core then added Bossy and Trottier. Also...circling back to the Habs. The Parise goal just 11 seconds into OT was the record until Skrudland's vs. the Flames in '86. Further to the Habs, our own Asst. Coach Burrows would equal Parise's feat in Game 2 of the 2011 Finals vs. the Bruins.

Another connection. Both Parise's played with Minnesota immediately before playing for the Islanders.

Another connection. Both Parise's played with Minnesota immediately before playing for the Islanders. Great! And here's another...but more of a domino effect, illustrating the acumen of Sam Pollock. Papa Parise was traded to the Islanders from Minnesota along with Jude Drouin--who assisted on the 0:11 OT goal. Drouin was drafted by...the Habs. 1966, 3rd Round, #17. With the 2-time reigning champs fully stocked, Drouin played only 12 regular season games over a season and a bit...then was dealt to the North Stars for the 1970-71 season in exchange for Bill Collins. Drouin was an instant young star for Minnesota--their leading scorer in regular season and playoffs that year---making it to the semi-finals where they fell in 6 to the Habs, who had knocked off the ridiculously-favored Bruins. A big factor in upsetting Boston was a trade Pollock made earlier that season with Detroit to acquire Frank Mahovlich. To get the Big M, Pollock traded sniper Mickey Redmond, Guy Charron, and Bill Collins. So, Pollock turned Jude Drouin into Bill Collins, who was packaged to get a marquee player instrumental in 2 Cup victories. Frank scored a then-record 27 playoff points in '71...and 23 in '73. EDIT: "Bill Collins" is also involved in that old trivia question: Who was the last player to wear #10 for Montreal before Guy Lafleur? Ted Harris had worn it from 63-70...but he was left unprotected for that 1970-71 season, and claimed by, you guessed it, Minnesota. Newly-acquired Bill Collins took #10....but after the Detroit trade, Frank's first game with the Habs was Jan. 14/71 in...wait for it...Minnesota. The Habs didn't have a #27 jersey with them, so Frank wore #10 that night. Game ended 3-3 with Frank scoring 1st. Drouin also scored.

That's some intense happenstance. I did not know about Frank wearing #10. Could throw a curve into the question, number worn by best Habs.

Nah. It would be a contest between 4 and 9, regardless of who wore 10.
