Cool fact. Both Beck and the Deputy scored their 30th of the season facing off against each other last night.
And the worst video award goes to…

Another dubious video, but you get the message. Another one for Beck. He also added two apples and the first star in a 6-2 win over Owen Sound and Guindon (1 assist).

Scott Wheeler of the Athletic has his top 75 prospect ranking. It includes mostly players drafted in 2023 and 2022 (72%), with the rest drafted from 2019-2021. Criteria is under 23 and not a "full time" NHL player.
1. Matvei Michkov 14. Lane Hutson 25. David Reinbacher 53. Joshua Roy 67. Logan Mailloux
Honorable Mentions: Owen Beck, Justin Barron, Filip Mesar, Jayden Struble.
I really hope the Reinbacher pick and not taking Michkov doesn't bite us in the rear. We badly need secondary scoring and I actually think we have the makings with Dach/Slafkovsky anchoring a 2nd line but it was a bit painful to see Michkov at #1 considering he was drafted at #7 last year. Just one guy's opinion but still...

I might not even have Hutson ranked at 14. There is real risk around his size. In any case, We have twice the number of prospects ranked in his top 25 than the 'average'.

He writes books about the Leafs... I doubt he's been to Russia to see Michkov play... he's got Nemec 2nd in his list but Nemec is already in the league (20. inutes a game and he's played 40 games) and playing full time and so is Struble

More facts. Nemec has 16 points in 40 games and is -2. He's 6' 1" 190 lbs. has 2 PP assists which means he's getting some PP time. He averages 19 minutes per game, so the Devils are using him a lot, possibly on the 2nd pairing.
Struble is 6', 205 lbs, so thicker and I would bet muchos dineros that he wins any athletic comparison between the two. Struble has 7 points in 39 games, so not as strong a scorer, but is +1. That might be because Struble gets played on the 3rd pairing (or does he?). I have trouble telling the difference between any of Montreal's pairings. Sure Matheson scores a lot, withh 43 points. He's also -24.
This comparison doesn't mean I'd rather have Struble than Nemec, because I'd make that trade. It's much closer than you'd think on first impressions, though. Nemec is 2.5 years younger so that factors in as well. Struble is turning out to be an excellent pick at #46.

You'd have to see him to answer the first question and the second is moot because Sochi is 23-38 and has a goal differential of -86, which is second worst of 23 teams. The only team worse is in Sochi's division and is -91. I hope Michkov makes it over to Philly before Torts gets fired. I'd love to see the fireworks.

He could see that Tambellini was headed his way and needed space, so he got out of the way into another 'spacey' spot.

Eriksson with a shortie today. Good anticipation to cause the turnover and good hustle to the net. He ended up going 1+1 in a big 7-1 win today.
Kapanen added an assist on the OT GWG in a 3-2 win today.
