All this time we've been hammering Burrows.😀 If it is MSL then that is quite disappointing. I thought he was a more creative offensive mind. And if Burrows isn't doing the PP then what is his job? Taking the blame. I can see that... MSL taking the heat off Burrows

I was listening to the Basu and Godin podcast the other day and they were talking about the PP struggles. For what it's worth they'd noted that at practice it's all St. Louis running the power play drills, and working closely with the first unit. Burrows may have the odd comment here or there, but their observations were that it's very much Marty's show when it comes to the PP. All this time we've been hammering Burrows.😀 If it is MSL then that is quite disappointing. I thought he was a more creative offensive mind. And if Burrows isn't doing the PP then what is his job? Something to remember is that Marty is extremely popular, so criticism of anything Marty related is verboten (German, if one is wondering). But... he's still the Habs coach and if something is wrong, he is responsible. Maybe he was making adjustments at that practice, or maybe he was re-inforcing tactics that aren't working. I have never been a fan of the defensive discipline on the Habs. They can be the proverbial headless chickens at times. Maybe that's just youth making youthful mistakes, but it hasn't gone away and at some point, you have to wonder. Is it just being ignored because now is not the right time? Is it because the players simply aren't built to want to defend well? I have played soccer with some guys who just aren't interested. They could be 6 feet from an opposing player who has the ball and won't move to get in his way at all. That used to tick me off immensely. One would think that's not the case here as if you're that passive, it's because you're at the end of the bench. Bottom line is that we don't cover well in our end. If you get a chance to watch the Canucks, look at them in their own end. They used to be like our Habs, but are quite different this year.
