Hey our 7th dman Kovacevic has the same amount of goals as our 1st OA, first line, soon to be elite winger! Lmao It's all about embellishing Kovy's ability so that we get a better return.

Marty's got a 'get out of Jail free' roll of tickets but you have to wonder. Unless he's acting on instructions from HO to stealth tank, there are still structure problems on the team and they're not improving on that aspect of the game. I didn't see the game, but here we have criticism of Caufield and Suzuki, especially Suzuki. How did Slaf play? While I'd like the occasional win, I'm more interested in the development side. Not only Slaf, but how did Xhekaj play? After it was 3-0 I saw he was even while Caufield and Suzuki were -2 each. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think St. Louis can be sent down to Laval without having to clear waivers.

Unfortunately this team doesn't have enough talent when you get past the halfway point of the season, we need more but we also need to get rid of guys like Anderson, Evans, armia and replace them with better...

Aye, there's the rub. Hughes is still in contract clean up mode. He can't move Gallagher but feels compelled for him to play. He can't move Anderson, who has a wretched contract. He might be able to move Armia if he attaches a pick. Evans is moveable and I expect him to have a different address in 2 weeks time. Savard may also fit that bill, though you can't trade too many vets, even those that drag the team down. I don't expect Savard or Matheson to be moved and that's ok. I wouldn't mind if Kovacevic was traded, though. It won't be too long before Hutson and Reinbacher are freed up. Perhaps even Engstrom. We're going to need some roster spots.

I almost laughed out loud earlier today. On Twitter, someone posted a set of statistics for the league's teams showing the differential between the Power PLay opportunities and the PP opportunities given up. You would expect the better teams to have the highest differential because they tend to draw more penalties and take fewer than the 'bad' teams. Habs were -5, which was just below the mid point, actually better than I expected. There was only one 'bad' team high up in the stats, around 5th overall in the NHL and from the acting classes you watched tonight, you can guess who that was.

When you keep trying to build a team based on character, and you see nights like the last three games, you become hesitant to blame the mess on "not trying hard enough", or "being lazy" because it a character built team, right? THIS is why you have to draft on talent, because talent wins games way more often than character

That's when character players persevere and keep going, regardless of the odds. It's a plain fact, if one team is more talented than the other and they both work equally as hard, the more talented team will win 9 times out of 10. But if the more talented team doesn't put out the same effort....all bets are off.
