I keep saying this, but this is a weird year. We play on the road, or not at all, an awful lot on Saturdays this year

Columbus' only win in the last 8 games was against SJ. In their last 2 losses , against the Avs & Vegas, they gave up something like 97 shots. So I'm not expecting anything from them.
I still don't know what Gaudreau was thinking. I'm sure he had a good selection of landing spots & he chooses a team that could miss the playoffs every year of his contract,

Well, Shane Wright plays for an AHL juggernaut team. The Firebirds could win the Calder Cup. And he is not doing bad down there -- 41 points in 53 games. However, at this stage there is likely no way any scouts, GMs, or coaches see him as a potential first liner. If Wright works hard on his overall game and first step, he could certainly be a productive middle six pivot.
The goalies are probably feeling pretty optimistic about their chances tonight. Both teams are bottom five in the league in scoring. Seattle appears to have slightly better special teams. Gourde always seems to play out of his mind against the Habs.

A couple of weeks ago Skilly posed a question -
How many guys would hit 30 goals
How many guys would hit 20 goals
At the time I replied that Suzuki and Caufield would be 20 goal scorers.
Now it looks like Suzuki could hit 30 and Slafkovsky could hit 20 as he scores his 16th tonight and ties Tremblay's under 20 years of age points record.

That was the good Matheson. Intercepts a pass and goes end to end , outskating Tatar and deking Daccord for a shortie. 5-1.

Guhle is a tough kid, but I have noticed ever since he came into the league that he takes a lot of shet from bottom six forwards trying to play on the edge. Moving forward it may not be a bad idea to serve notice to opponents that two can play that game. Montreal needs more fourth liners like Pezzetta and fewer floaters like White. They want to drill a young top 4 d-man like Guhle, then the missiles get programmed for delivery on their young skill guys.

This game could be a lot closer. Primeau has been very sharp.

For sure, not to say that he has been lights out every start, but Primeau is a feel good story this season and the reality is back in camp few would have predicted that he would be consolidating as the clear #2 for 2024-25.

Nhl.com just changed the goal from Slaf to Guhle I thought Slafkovsky got his stick on it. ESPN,com also has it for Guhle. It sure bloody well looked like Slaf redirected it. At least they gave him the second assist on Harris' goal after omitting it to start with.

I'm not convinced Primeau won't be our #1 sometime next season. Kid looks like he has all the tools. He was the differnece tonight as we were outplayed in the first period but thanks to Gru we were up 4-0. Even then Primeau kept us in the lead.

Thanks to the announcer for telling us that Anderson has 1 goal in his last 24 games. Drouin may have been our most overpaid player for what he brought, game in and game out. But Josh is giving him a good run. The guy brings nothing, despite his size and speed. ! Ironically, they were both paid $5.5 for their nothingness!
