His trade value is sky rocketing. A goal and 3 assists tonight, first star. I wonder what the difference is? He suddenly has starting piling up points, 10 in 3 games. Halak gave up only 1 goal on 30+ shots and got 2nd star. Our prospects are shining. stats.theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1004292

Grabovski really doesn't fit a need, with the emergence of S. Kostitsyn. Him and Halak though might be an interesting package of players to attract a useful roster player for the stretch.

Pretty good candidate for AHL player of the week, so that will increase his exposure even more. Start fielding some calls on him Bob and see what return he and/or him and others can get.

Grabovsky goes down fast. He reminds me of Petrov lite.

Something has taken over Mikhail Grabovski's body. Another 3 assists tonight, another 1st star of the game in a 4-2 win over somebody. (who can remember all those AHL teams?) D'Agostini with 2 goals and 10 shots (!) Halak with 34 saves on 36 shots. stats.theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1004298

13 points in four games is good in any league. A pre-trade deadline spurt of energy!

Grabovski was also named the first star for the fourth straight game...rather impressive.
D'Agostini has been playing well and producing as well with 7 points (3-4) during that same four game stretch.
Four wins in a row and how tied for second in their division with the Moose. With the cross over rule in effect, the Dogs need to get in the top three of their division to likely make the playoffs. Things are on track right now.

Grabovski's scoring streak ended last night in a 2-1 OT loss, but he was back on again with 2 goals in a big win this afternoon against the first place Marlies in Hogtown.
3 big points in a tight playoff race.
Don Waddell was at the game and was even interviewed on the Dogs' radio broadcast. He, of course, would not provide any details on a possible trade between the two teams. Maybe he just can't get enough hockey!!

you know what, if grabovski is really lighting it up in the ahl, maybe just maybe he's got that potential to do it in the show, why trade him away when we're so young. unless you can get a hossa or something like that for him in a package deal i say bring the kid up and let's see what he can do!
if we can clear roster space by dealing smoke, breeze and dandy i'm all for that, those are three useless tits.

yo if we can clear roster space by dealing smoke, breeze and dandy i'm all for that, those are three useless tits. Breeze is going nowhere. He was signed to a retirement contract -- he's going to retire a Hab. And not that I wish him ill, the best thing to happen would be for him to injure himself [slightly] and be put on IR. That way he goes on out on top . . .not pushed out, not in the press box.

if we can clear roster space by dealing smoke, breeze and dandy i'm all for that, those are three useless tits. But Smolinski is such a great passer on the PP..... When Smolinski returned from his injury, he had about 3 or 4 great games....since then.... I agree with you here h&c..... If we don't do anything on deadline day, bring up Chips for Smoke, and Grabs for Dandy. And if Huet and/or Price continue to let in the softies....bring up Halak. Can't let this year drizzle away when you have possible solutions in Hamilton.

I forgot about the sending down part......thanks for that reminder.

That's not true. After tomorrow (today) there is no roster limit, so we can bring up and send down players at will, so long as they're waiver exempt and it fits under the salary cap.

but they did have corso with 2g-2a and the 1st star. not bad with 23 pts in 25 games Corso was a great addition earlier. He really fired up Locke and Milroy and gave the team some much needed offensive punch when they were going through a stretch where it was severely lacking. Grabo coming back from injury and adding the 1-2 punch was pure bonus and really got the team on a tear.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Danis can do with a long stretch of games here. He's got the rest of the season to prove that he's worth a team taking a chance on him.
I know he doesn't fit in the plans in Montreal, but I'm rooting for him anyway.

If he can take the ball and run with it, and put up some Halak like numbers, like he did when he first signed on, he could turn into a much more valuable asset.

Dogs sure mailed it in tonight. Lost 6-0, Danis pulled after 5 goals on 32 shots through 2 periods and Cedric Desjardins let another in 10 shots in the 3rd.
I mean, the Habs picked Hamilton dry, and Cincinatti is a power house this season, but that's a really poor result.

VAlentenko's hurt. Put him in and it's a 1-0 Hamilton win.

Good teams bounce back from a blowout their next game, and the Dogs pulled off a big 3-2 hard fought win against their last season Calder Cup opponents, the Hershey Bears.
The Hamilton Spectator is quite upset that the Habs have kept all the Dogs' callups off their clear day roster, meaning they cannot be sent down to Hamilton for the remainder of the season or for the playoffs if the Habs are done before the Dogs.
The Habs have been stockpiling a few extra bodies of late for the Dogs and likely have a few coming down the road from the CHL and NCAA, so it will be another case of letting the young guys show what they can do. Sounds a lot like the approach the Habs are taking with the big club as well. If all goes well, it is a moot point with all the players playing well into the golf season due to playoff success!!

The crowd was booing their PP by the second, so the team just lacked a whole lot tonight. Like Lever said in an article in the Spec today, they post the standings in the dressing room so they know what is on the line and who they are up against. The Dogs get another shot at the Moose on Sunday, so let's hope they can at least get the split for the weekend.

I'm not as confident Yann will be anything but a decent AHL goalie. The Dogs are slipping (not a surprise considering S Kostitsyn and O'Byrne and Halak are all with the Habs. Trotter got a couple of points tonight and 3rd star....that's encouraging. stats.theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1004437
