He'a decent 2nd line winger who's defensively responsible. I wonder what it would take to get him out of NY. He would be a good replacement for Dags on the 2nd line.

Rucinsky is an upgrade on Dagenais for sure. Now, would I want BO to make a move for him..NO It never turns out right for us when they bring an old hab back... Unless he'd be picked on waivers, I say no..He ain't worth a prospect, nor a pick...IMO I am sorry, I don't like the guy Lord Stanley

Old prejudices die hard. Rucinsky has a solid +/- on a stinking team. He didn't throw in the towel. His defensive play has been fairly good (a B-). He sees the ice well and makes good passes. He has 40+ points, which compares favorably with the totals of the top 4 Habs wings. He makes (I think) $1.8M, which is affordable. Is he better than Dagenais? You betcha!

As a rental player (for it seems that it's what we're getting), Rucinski would be just great for the playoffs. He can play on the two first lines, and he even knows some of the guys.
I'd give Dags and Perreault for him, and it would be a fair deal. Well, if you didn't see Dagenais play too often.

He is playing well right now and would be an upgrade for sure on our big lanky Dags. He is an obvious choice and likely wouldn't be too expensive.

I think we can get the same kind of play out of Nik Sundstrom. Sunny lacks a bit in the intensity department, but he has the skills and hockey sense to play any role you ask of him. If you gave him a defined role (i.e. second line winger with Ribs and Ryder) I think he could give you everything Marty Rucinsky could without giving anything up.

A Sundstrom in civvies is unequal to a Rucinsky in uniform. QED.
