Chicago Black Hawks Vice-President Bob Pulford became general manager of the legendary hockey team for the 17th time earlier this afternoon.
"It feels good," said Pulford, from his Wirtz 650 4WD wheelchair. "This time I intend on doin' it right."
Pulford, a former NHLer best known for his mediocre seasons in Los Angeles and Toronto, has been compared to Waylon Smithers by comedy pundits, Harry Sinden by NHL afficionados.
"I'm pullin' for him" said team president/owner/ Bill Wirtz late this afternoon, from his wheelchair factory in Dearborn, Mich.
"Bob told me yesterday that Mike had to go and that was good enough for me," said Wirtz. "He played against Bobby Orr!!"
Chicago is not expected to win the Stanley Cup for an additional 42 years.
