Big guys who can skate will always get consideration. What's his contract like these days? I'd rather have him than Hlavac, but you gotta have room to play these guys. Can't pick up every mediocre 4th liner with borderline 3rd line potential.

I think this could be a player that would help the Habs. He is big at 6'2" and 215 lbs, only 23 years old, plays centre and left wing and is a decent defensive player that had good scoring numbers in junior. www.forecaster.ca/thestar/hockey/player.cgi?1617He has a good attitude and is not overpaid by NHL standards. I'm not saying for a minute that he should be the next saviour or anything like that, but he is a big forward that could be used and allow Hossa to be sent to the AHL. He could also be used as a replacement for Juneau or Audette since both are nearing the end of their careers and at worst would make a line of Kilger/Malhotra/Landgdon a pretty big and physical presence. Plus since he is not likey to get many more chances he should work his butt off to stay in the NHL, if not he is placed back on waivers after a month.

Malhotra to Columbus.
Oh well, that's twice now that we have been pre-empted by teams picking up waiver players ahead of us.

Malhotra to Columbus. Oh well, that's twice now that we have been pre-empted by teams picking up waiver players ahead of us. We've just got to finish lower in the standing, dammit. We have to send Bettman an official, notarized letter stating our intention to finish as low as possible. I can just see Jean BĂ©liveau's expression right now, as the Habs announce their intent. It just makes tanking the season worthwhile, doncha think?
