i think this guy is the comeback player of the year. He has 30 points already and missed some games due to injury..What did the flames give him away for a late late round pick? Maybe this is anther John Leclair thing..Does Saperlipopette for one team but is a top foward for another.

He was traded for Ruslan Zainullin. I'm glad the Flames are doing well lately, but they sure make some bone-headed trades. This one along with the Martin St-Louis must have them kicking themselves.
With Savard, the Flames did reach a point that they had to trade him because he wasn't getting along with the coach (Greg Gilbert), but I have a hard time believing that Ruslan Zainullin is the most they could get.
I've always liked Savard and the edge that he plays the game with. When he was on the block, I was kind of hoping for AS to get him, but at that time the Habs had too many bodies as it was.
Anyhow, Marc Savard is having a career year and is on pace for a 100+ pt. season.
