Sad thing is, possibly Balej is one of their best players after the wheeling and dealing the Rangers have been doing.

After the first period the Ranger's lead 1-0 on a nice deflection goal.
The sad part is that the Turner South broadcasting is so bad that I can't even report which line Balej is on. I never heard his name mentioned once except for the pre-game when they said he was going top play. Quite honestly, I never noticed him and I didn't see him involved in any play. So it leads me to wonder if they even gave him a shift that period.
If they have given up on the season and had one of the biggest fire sales in history (next to Washington) wouldn't you think if they called a kid up they would be more than happy to play him, and not let him rot on the bench? Make no wonder the Rangers have been bad for so long.
Jagr Holik Hlavac line played half the period.

Still 1-0 after 2 periods.
Josef Balej had a couple of shifts that period and displayed some playmaking abilities. He feathered a fancy pass to LaCouture who tipped it wide. Then on his next shift he feed a pass up the wing pass the defenseman to Mike Green who went in on the goalie but was stopped.
Still no points, but he is not getting much ice time and is making things happen. It seems the rangers have him on a line with Lundmark and LaCouture. If he stays paired with Lundmark he could get a few points before the end of the season.
