I have to say that the lighting are playing very well this season and will roll over the isles in 5.

My gut tells me that the Isles will win this in 6. But my brain tell me that Tampa wins in 5. So when in doubt ..... go with the long shot. Isles in 6.

regular season success against another team doesn't mean a whole lot in the playoffs. Tampa in 5.

You stole my post JKR. Isles dominance over Tampa in regular season will be reversed. Tampa has better offense and goaltending.

I don't know why, but Tampa just doesn't seem like a legitimate contender so I voted NYI in 7. Mariusz with the series-clinching goal ;D

Tampa just has more and better tools than NYI. Tampa is 5.

How about Khabibulin....3 shutouts so far....and with a quick, young team in front of him. Lightning are looking good.
Belfour's got 2...but the Leafs have been outplayed in all 4 games.
Esche is surprising...up 3-1....outplaying Brodeur. And how about Aebischer? Up 3-1 too. Holding the fort in Dallas, outshot 14-3 in the third period...and 14-6 in the OT's, yet Colorado gets the double OT win.

St. Louis scores with a laser early in O/T to eliminate the Isles in 5. Khabibulin allows on 5 goals in the series.
Everybody is so focused on Belfour yet the Bulin wall's numbers have been excellent.( against a wekaer team though.)

Everybody is so focused on Belfour yet the Bulin wall's numbers have been excellent.( against a wekaer team though.) If we could just get by the Bruins....a herculean effort...then we would face the Lightning. Fine with me. We'd be a tired crew, but the emotion and confidence would be at an all season high. For the fans, too.

Islanders have won a total of 5 games in the past three years in the post-season: 3 of those games in 2002.
