Watching the CBC pre-game of Wings-Flames Game 2....
It was 70% Wings; 20% Leafs; 10% Flames.
Glenn Healy is treating the Flames the same way he treats the Habs. "Here's what Detroit has to do...here's how you defend against Iginla...what a move by Dave Lewis putting Yzerman on the grind line....didn't I say Detroit was dangerous killing penalties?....and blah blah blah."
I thought it was just the Habs that received CBC coverage skewed toward a U.S.-based team ....but it appears it's everyone but the Leafs.

I remember a VAN-EDM game - EDM was fighting to stay in playoff contention, and VAN could lock up the division, and CBC were clearly pro-VAN, had I been an EDM fan I would've been ticked off...

I find Healy much easier to take now that he is off leaf broadcasts on TSN. His job there was sugar coating every Toronto move. It seems like he is always saying something & doesn't realize that he does not have to be constantly talking.
Now Millen on the other hand was down right infuriating. I had not been exposed to him in large doses before. I switched to the French language broadcast last night just to get away from him.
PS: What's with all these ex-goalies working as analysts - Hrudey, Healy, Hayward ( west coast games) and Millen on CBS & Pang on ESPN. Brian Hayward might be a good choice. I found him clear & concise and not in love with the sound of his own voice.

I was noticing the same thing during the game. I must have noticed it especially because I was thinking the reverse. What can Calgary do to destroy the Wings, etc. Every Wing goal was a great play, not a mistake by Calgary, which is usually the case with most goals. You don't have 3 guys against 2 and focus on the puck carrier, leaving Yzerman all alone to take a pass and score. Two positional errors by Calgary cost them two goals.

I haven't heard much of Hayward lately, but remember thinking the same thing about a year ago. His commentary is un-biased and insightful, without being patronizing - like Millen, Healy, and Neale. With regards to Healy and Millen, I submitted a complaint through the CBC website. It's definitely worth voicing your opinion - seeing as we're paying their salaries: www.cbc.ca/contact/index.jsp

The best worst Healy comment came just before the third period today...with the Wings holding a 3-lead.
Whitman: Chris Chelios seems okay after taking that big hit at the end of the second period.
Healy: That's good news for the Wings...not that they need him for the rest of this game...but for the rest of the series.
There ya go Calgary fans....CBC hires a guy to say your team has no chance of coming back in a 3-1 game, when we all know you came back from 4-0 to force OT in Game 6 in round one.
I've already sent a letter to CBC. I did it in 2002 when Millen was "coaching" Carolina....
Apparently these letters are sent to a guy named Noah Vale.
