Its not the team its the fans mostly, but its good to see our hated rival out for another year. You got to give them credit they are one hell of a team to kill off....... a shame ain't it.....37 years NOT! The flags will be gone and life will once again be bearable for all us lovers of gods team here in the big smoke. The Habs are gaining fast, the time is very near when we pass the Leafs in the standings. Then the world as we should know it will be right once again. HFTO

Guess who just won lunch for the next 3 days?! ;D Roenick is a great player and all but I wish Recchi had scored. Recchi is the man! I am going to sleep like a baby tonight.

Isn't it amazing how a Leafs' playoff exit rounds out a Habs' fan's season? I love it. Although, you could tell when the Flyers didn't score on the Sundin penalty in the third, that they missed their chance to bury them 3-0. Cue the comeback.
But, I heard Brian Leetch on MOJO After the Horn say that he got caught watching Sundin's rush up the ice in OT and forgot that someone was behind him (Roenick) and it led to the game winning 2-on-1....what a shot by JR.
Leetch was a -4 on Sunday and a -2 tonight...although with the amount of minutes he played, perhaps it's understandable, I don't know.
All I DO know is that in spite of all the media/fan hoopla about the late season/trade deadline acquisitions (Leetch, Francis, Kilger, and Calle Johansson....he was the man).....the Leafs, with much Stanley Cup expectations, went no further than the Habs...who exceeded expectations.
Leafs fans/media said of Sunday's 7-2 loss: "Whether you lose 7-2 or 3-2 in OT...a loss is a loss."
How prophetic was that statement?
My mind just isn't in the right place until the Leafs are gone......with their big budget they may retool properly over the summer and grab some quality FAs. They will have to get younger...they can't get any older.
My joke: The CBC's segment "After Forty Minutes" will be renamed simply "After Forty" in honour of this Leafs' team.

I was very glad to see JR score in OT after TO stormed back to tie it in the 3rd and looked to have all the momentum going their way. All I can say is...phew. The office will be a bit more bearable tomorrow morning and some heads will be hanging a wee bit lower than they were right after we were eliminated...thanks JR!!

That ripping sound you hear.....is that Leafs' fans' hearts for the 37th year in a row...or tens of thousands of Leafs flags being torn from vehicle windows....or CBC executives' hair being yanked from their scalps?
Looks so good on Ron Maclean, Cherry (even though he did say Philly would win),.....and especially Glenn Healy, the biggest Leaf shill in the business. He wanted Boston to beat Montreal, and Detroit to take out Calgary so his little Maple Leafs could be Canada's team....
Guess what, Glenn....as of right now....Canada's team is the Calgary Flames...who took out the #3 divisional and #1 overall seeds.
Even the Habs can say they had a better season than the Leafs, as they exceeded all expectations by making the playoffs and overcoming a 3-1 deficit in upsetting the #2 divisional seed Bruins. Losing to the #1 Lightning in Round 2 carries no shame.
The Leafs, again, fell way short of their expectations of winning the Cup. All year long I've heard that "the Leafs are built for the playoffs...a veteran team that will come to the fore when it counts". It seems, as with all of Quinn's editions of the Leafs, that they're built for the regular season. The Leafs are going to have to rebuild like crazy.
Love your animation, Leafsuck!

My joke: The CBC's segment "After Forty Minutes" will be renamed simply "After Forty" in honour of this Leafs' team. Very good, and even better that it has two stingers in one. 1. A shot at their average team age, and 2. A reference to the number of years (and counting) between cups (37 is close enough to 40 for this purpose!!).
