How bout those Flames, huh? Winning in OT again. Great goaltending by Kiprusoff....looking like Roy in 93.

Game 2: 4-1 Flames in a brilliant road game. Kiprusoff with another outstanding game....and Nabokov with some questionable positioning.
Great hockey to watch. And nice to see the Sharks not goon it up after it was 4-1 with around 5 minutes left. Hard to dislike a team that works as hard as Calgary.
Saddledome will be rockin'.

It's hard not to be impressed with the Flames in nearly every aspect of their game. They're tireless workers, patient, gritty, extremely fast up front, underrated on defence, and do all the little things all the time. Many of these are obvious Sutter traits.
It's not hard to see that the team has taken on the personality of their coach - much like we did under MT in 2002, only with different results. We became as high-strung as MT was. An emotional wreck. This Flames team simply doesn't get rattled. Everything is ho-hum. Going to overtime? No worries. Coughed up a lead? No biggie, we'll get it back. Sutter appears almost asleep during interviews, he's so calm. The players are reflecting that. This team is superiorly coached.
They're so well coach that they can put Commodore and Montador in the lineup and not miss a beat. They play a simple game which helps. That's not to say it's boring. Far from it. They work hard, play hard, hit hard, and forecheck very well. Rarely do you see a line take a shift off. Again, traits of Sutter.
Kipper has been great in nets. So calm it's eerie. He makes big saves when needed, and he makes the little saves too. For a small goalie, he also navigates traffice very well too.
I've enjoyed watching them. They're entertaining.

They're all over'Here, There and Everywhere' line gives Flames control of series By ERIC FRANCIS -- Calgary Sun SAN JOSE -- Wearing the grin of a joker after playing like a king, Ville Nieminen was asked to come up with a name for his rag-tag trio of heroes. "You can call it whatever," said the colourful Flames winger, pondering the question before snapping to attention. "You can call it the Here, There and Everywhere Line." - slam.canoe.ca/Slam040512/col_francis-sun.html

Best of luck to the Flames who need a big win on Sunday afternoon. Don't want to go back to San Jose all tied up. Hate to see the Sharks regain the momentum AND home-ice advantage.

The Sharks have evened it up...special teams were the difference. The Flames PP is looking like that of the Habs' against the Lightning. Zilch on four straight powerplays. Then they take 4 straight penalties and San Jose scores on #1 and #4. And Kiprusoff? I think he'd like to have goals #2 and 3 back...and perhaps #4. Nowhere near as sharp as usual. Okay, now every goalie in Round 3 has had a below-par game. And they've all rebounded with strong winning performances. Let's see what Kipper can do in Game 5. He shutout Detroit in Games 5 and 6.
Their PP has to improve....but then again, hats off to the Sharks, who are playing extremely disciplined hockey.

What's up with the wacky scheduling for Game 5s?
Flames-Sharks have to play theirs about 28 hours after Game 4 with travel.
Meanwhile the Flyers and Lightning get from Saturday afternoon til Tuesday night.
Yeah that seems about right.
EDIT: And true-to-form Kiprusoff gets a shutout in Game 5, rebounding from that non-Kipper-esque Game 4. Hindsight being what it is....perhaps the quick turnaround favoured the Flames, i.e. not much time to fret over the losing a two game lead.
Whatever happened, hats off to the Flames again. Considering the situation, it was one of the most dominant road games I've seen. Without the puck, they were stellar.
But, if I'm a Shark fan, I'm all over Nabokov on Goals 1 and 3 as much as I was on Theo for his soft goals. Nabokov made poor positional decisions on both of them.
McLaren looked very foolish on Goal 3 (couldn't have happened to a nicer guy other than McCabe).
The puck got by him along the right boards in Calgary's end...and he just stood there and smacked his stick on the ice in disgust. Meanwhile, Conroy raced by him for a 2-on-1 and scored on a very tentative, indecisive Nabokov.
I can only imagine the posts on here if that had been the Habs who came back to tie the Conference Finals on the road, only to have one of our d-men and our goaltender go out-to-lunch at home in Game 5 for the insurance goal.
Amazing how we can watch bone-headed decisions from players in other sweaters and feel no change in our blood pressure.
