KELOWNA, B.C. -- What can Sidney Crosby do for an encore?
The Rimouski Oceanic centre became the first 16-year-old to win the Canadian Hockey League's player-of-the-year award and also became the first player to win that award, the top scorer and top rookie honours all in the same year Wednesday at the CHL awards ceremony.
"To do it my first year in the league, I feel pretty lucky," Crosby said. "People are going to expect the same type of performance I had when I was 16. I know it's going to be tougher. I'm not going to surprise anyone."
Crosby also picked up a new award, the Canada Post Cup, which goes to the player who has earned the most points via three-star selections in each game.--full article--R.
