Hockey commentator Don Cherry re-signs with Hockey Night In Canada

TORONTO (CP) - Controversial commentator Don Cherry is returning to Hockey Night In Canada.

"We think Don is one of, if not the best, hockey commentators in the country," said Nancy Lee, executive director of CBC Sports.

Play-by-play veteran Bob Cole and his sidekick Harry Neale will also be back in the booth, and former NHL goalies Kelly Hrudey and Greg Millen also have been retained for the network's 53rd season of HNIC, the CBC announced Thursday.

I long for the Toronto HNIC crew to be replaced with younger, more knowledgeable, neutral commentators. I also think Brian Burke could be a natural heir to the Coach's Corner throne.
