Hockey commentator Don Cherry re-signs with Hockey Night In Canada 29/07/2004 5:39:00 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TORONTO (CP) - Controversial commentator Don Cherry is returning to Hockey Night In Canada. "We think Don is one of, if not the best, hockey commentators in the country," said Nancy Lee, executive director of CBC Sports. Play-by-play veteran Bob Cole and his sidekick Harry Neale will also be back in the booth, and former NHL goalies Kelly Hrudey and Greg Millen also have been retained for the network's 53rd season of HNIC, the CBC announced Thursday. sports.sympatico.msn.ca/Home/ContentPosting.aspx?feedname=CP-AllSports&newsitemid=31520022____________________________________________ I guess the comic relief quotient keeps people tuning in. What else could it be? I mean, really.

I hope CBC is required to pay them all, even if there is no hockey.

I hope CBC is required to pay them all, even if there is no hockey. I hope there is hockey and CBC doesn't pay them (except maybe Hrudey).

I long for the Toronto HNIC crew to be replaced with younger, more knowledgeable, neutral commentators. I also think Brian Burke could be a natural heir to the Coach's Corner throne.
Change is good, HNIC. Change is good.
