Who are the top 10 RIGHT NOW who you think have the proverbial "IT"? Those who lay it on the line every night in front of a full house or 10,000 empty seats in Columbus...
1) Peter Forsberg 2) Joe Sakic 3) Saku Koivu 4) Markus Naslund 5) Jarome Iginla 6) Joe Nieuwendyk (spelled from memory...) 7) Ryan Smyth 8) Brad Richards 9) Ilya Kovalchuk 10) Mark Recchi
honorable mention to Michael Ryder...

You must of just went for the goal producers. Illya take nights off, and so does Naslund.
Sundin doesn't take many nights off. Begin brings it every game. Avery doesn't let up. Palffy when healthy.
Scott Stevens had "it" in spades.
"It" means so many things, but not necessarily all offense.

Well I did have production in mind...I also had things like grace under pressure and nights off or not, Kovalchuk scored 41 goals on a bad team missing key components, with the shroud of tragedy hanging over the team...that says "IT" to me in spades....
Naslund was left with unenviable position of trying to carry his team emotionally after Bertuzzi's latest brain cramp...

Scott Stevens had "it" in spades. "It" means so many things, but not necessarily all offense. He's my son's favourite player (oh the pain) but, I find Sundin is as good as Roberts on some nights especially in the leadership department. On that note few can match Scott Stevens. The "it" guys? You mean the guys who bring "it" to the rink every night? The guys who are noticable every shift? Hmm ... 1. Jerome Iginla, Flames 2. Saku Koivu, Habs 3. Martin St. Louis, Bolts 4. Nicklas Lidstrom, Wings 5. Martin Brodeur, Devils 6. Brad Richards, Bolts 7. Kris Draper, Wings 8. Mike Peca, Islanders 9. Gary Roberts, Buds 10. John "Mad Dog" Madden, Devils Honourable mentions (in no order); Patrik Elias, Devils Jason Blake, Islanders Steve Bégin, Habs Alyn McAuley, Sharks Mike Ryder, Habs Darcy Tucker, Buds Tie Domi, Buds (believe it or not he's noticable every shift) Cheers

I wasn't looking at goalies but if the list has been expanded then Roberto Luongo has to be there...

Surely there must be more defensemen who belong on the list.
