After a year away, NHL releases TV scheduleNEW YORK (AP) — The NHL returns to TV on Oct. 5 when the Outdoor Life Network broadcasts the opening night game between the Philadelphia Flyers and the New York Rangers. The league released its television schedule Wednesday as it prepares to resume play after last season was wiped out by a lockout. Still surprising that there's nothing official from the Canadian stations. I think they are waiting for the CBC to get straighten up. Could be a long wait. INterstingly enough, the CBC is under contract. Two years ago ( *timing may be off) the NHL signed a five year contract with Mother-Corp; lock-out time not included in the time frame (ie: four years left). Maybe we are just waiting for the Leafs to dictate what games will be seen.
