If Eklund mentioned a trade it would have been Ryder, Hainsey and a second rounder for Crosby. Yeah, sure, I believe it! Simple swap of Maratimers. Grumbles. Ryder is not a maritimer. Newfoundland is not a maritime province. Newfoundland is apart of the Atlantic provinces with New Brunswick, PEI, and Nova Scotia ..... but we are not apart of the Maritime provinces. Little geography lesson Ryder has stated he is unaware of any trade talk involving him, and even laughed at the supposed Florida rumour. The rumour supposedly started on Saturday (the day Ryder was interviewed by the local newspaper in a "20 Questions with ...... " article). Pretty sure this is total BS .... but if this was true what a coup for Gainey!!! I do not believe the rumor. Furthermore I do no longer believe that newfoundland is a maratime province (even though it looks like it is on the coast. I stand corrected. It is an Atlantic province. We Americans constantly enrage people around the world with our ignorance of world geography. I like Ryder, but he was a lowly draft choice and the question is, will he continue his incredible improvement or was that his big year (15 mins of fame)? I think Richards is the real deal and as an Atlantic provincial (if you can call PEI on the Atlantic Ocean) the trade would be great.

Lacavalier to Montreal for a monkey.... Luango to Montreal for a squirrel...... Richards to Montreal for two squirrels..... Oi.........we are beginning to sound like Laff fans...... The difference: those fans actually believe the rumours and tout them as continuing the quest for a Cup victory, whereas Habs fans look at reality, have a good laff themselves, and move on.

Oi.........we are beginning to sound like Laff fans...... Yes. The best leaf rumor this season was the idiotic idea that Ken Holland would accept Belak & Belfour for Zetterberg. It was actually reported on one of the Toronto news stations. Let's hope we never get stupid enough to believe something that far-fetched.

Oh come on now, I thought the Lecavalier ditching TBay for the Habs rumours were pretty good rib-ticklers too.
Though Théodore asking for $5.5M+ per season is up there too.
Has Brian Savage signed with us yet?

Has Brian Savage signed with us yet? Are Tucker and Corson coming back? Just heard a rumour disseminated by the notorious Jean Pagé that Théodore is asking for a 5 year deal with a no-trade clause. How's that for a knee slapper?

You know, there's nothing wrong with asking . . . the worst that can happen is to be told "no" (or, depending on the situation, a slap in the face ).

Has Brian Savage signed with us yet? Yeah, but EVERYONE wants to play for the Habs, don't they? Savage is holding out for $5.5 million too. I heard Gainey has been talking to Kovalenko and trying to deal for Rosey in an effort to put together the dream line.

Has Brian Savage signed with us yet? Are Tucker and Corson coming back? Corson isn't coming back yet, but he did say, "I love Montreal and it was my childhood dream to play for the Hab's until I retire! I always hated Toronto and only played there for the money." Savage is ready for his breakthrough 50 goal year. Tucker will switch from being a pest to becoming a scoring sensation. Today is April 1st.
