Drury & Briere are my 1st two choices of the UFA centres and the concensus is that Gomez rounds out the top three. However Blake seems to be getting little or no attention in the media. When people talk about potential Islander signings it focuses on Smyth.
Blake is coming off a 40 goal season that was preceded by a 28 goal season. Size wise he is identical to Briere & he plays a feisty game. However he is older (34 by the time next season starts) so I would be hesitant to give a 4-5 year deal.
If the Habs get shut out of the top three would he be a good choice?

...I guess the question becomes is there a plan A, B, C, D... and do we just get the best we can to fill what we need or do we have a few selected players targeted...
If they feel we need an additional offensive center, and I hope they do, than I hope they don't quit until they find one.
While Blake can score, he's a winger and I feel we're pretty good at that. I'd pass on him.

I'd pass on him too. He doesn't fill a need and I don't think that we need a repeat of last summer and just sign someone for the sake of it.
I think Jason Blake's a great hockey player, but he's not a fit with the Habs.
