Got this from another board. Maybe some of you guys who get "The Team 990" stream can confirm this. It was reported on there that Gainey is apparently interested in Janis Sprukts a 6'3" 235 lbs Latvian centre. He's also played with Acadie-Bathurst Titan in the Q. Any of you guys have an opinion on this kid? Cheers.

I'm trying to imagine what a Janis Sprukts looks like.
I would imagine he would be for Hamilton. Right?
He wasn't good enough for the Florida Panthers last year....
Sounds like a fourth liner at best although his defensive game is not his strong suit. He's an offensive forward.
From another board:
Sprukts produced in the AHL - mostly assists, and mostly only when Buffalo's scoring prospects were in the lineup. In his NHL callup, playing a number of games, he didn't show an ability to produce and apparently, from what was posted in this forum last year by people watching him, he didn't show much ability to skate, either.
26 year old with a wife and kids apparently wanted a one way and refused to sign a two way contract with Florida last year.
He's currently on a 4 month contract in Finland to replace an injured roster player.
He's available at the end of December.
That's all I got.

I broke a Sprukt once on my bike. They're a pain to change. Did Bob break one too?

Ryder for that guy would be a trade on par or worse than Ribiero for Ninnimaa
