I see that there are some rumours on other boards. Not sure what to make of them. One has hin going for Stoll and another one asa a package for Hossa.
I like the Stoll rumour the most because I am afraid to find out what the Hossa rumour would cost us.

He was a healthy scratch yesterday. When that happens this time of year, that's gonna start the fires.

Interesting. By chance where did you hear them, HA?
Cheers.
Edit: there was something on another board that said Ryder was seen leaving the Bell Centre with his equipment but later in the thread a poster said it was bogus.

Well a couple people who I know casually and work at the Bell Centre told me that Ryder's locker had been cleaned out, but I don't know if they saw that for sure or if that was them reporting the buzz around the BC, as they don't work for the Habs themselves.

I was gonna make a new thread, but I'll post this here.
Aside from actually re-signing in Montreal, where are logical fits for Michael? I think most are in agreement that unless it's a great move for us the best place for Mike is the West so he can't come back and haunt us as easily. At this point the only thing that is going to get him scoring again is a new uniform. To that end, who out west would be a good fit?
Vancouver.
They need goals. Their biggest weakness is a lack of goal scoring. Looking at Vancouver's current roster on TSN, it's REALLY thin on the RW. If we target them as a trading partner, who do we look to get in return. Bourdon's name likely rolls off the tongue first for many. I really doubt Vancouver would even consider it. What about Willie Mitchell? Tough, gritty, defensive defenseman. Injuries are the big concern with Willie. He's making $3.5 million per year. Not sure how many years are left on his deal. Vancouver might not want to get thinner on the blueline, so we offer a depth defender (Bouillon, Dandy)along with Ryder and they throw back a compensatory pick - say a 2nd or 3rd rounder if they sign Ryder to a contract in the Summer.
I'm not starting a rumor. Just hypothesizing. Thinking out loud.

That might work is the right circumstance, though Mitchell would require more than Ryder and Dandy, given Ryder's a uFA July 1.
Right now, the Vancouver defense is running on fumes, so many guys are injured. That's why they're on this losing streak. they'd probably like Ryder, but not for a dman on their present roster. Bourdon? Possibly, if we threw in a 2nd tier prospect.

mitchell signed with vancouver to come back home, he was very vocal pre signing that he wanted to play with the canucks in vancouver. i like him, he's useful, and this year very injury prone. i'm not sure what is left on brendan morrisons contract, if he has another year i'd consider him for ryder, even though he's overpaid, he's responsible in both ends, smart, good pker, plays hard.
luc bourdon for ryder would have involve another prospect, but i'd bet the farm that bourdon is not available, if he can't handle the pressure in vancouver, i'm not sure he'd like montreal.
we may see a ryder for juraj simek kind of deal, vancouver is not afraid to sell the future for now, ala leafs, or ryder for a 2nd rounder. their scouting staff aside from thomas gradin is notoriously bad, and nonis knows that so isn't afraid to trade away 2nd-4th rounders as evidenced over the last couple of seasons.

If those rumours are true there maybe legs in the case of Atlanta. Bob won't make a deal unless Hossa is signed so if Ryder remains scratched over the next couple days that might be Bob's window to work out a deal. IMO if Emelin projects to be in Mcguires words posssibly better than Markov, then .......... Ryder and Emelin plus a pick and possibly another prospect has to get that deal done. Hossa is a really good player but he's still not the elite of the elite pretty close but he's not a spring chicken. HFTO
