From Pierre MacGuire

I was going to post something last night, but I was too angry.   I am still too angry. So I will give you a synopsis of what Pierre MacGuire said this morning on the Team 990. Jacques Demers said more or less the same thing.

"Last night was a joke."

"Mick McGoo should lose some weight."

"The goal should have counted, because the net never came off its moorings."

"Theo Fleury should have gotten a penalty, and maybe even suspended."

"The refs might have let that go because it was Fleury, and they didn't want him  to go ballistic."

"There will be a lot of trials and tribulations behind the scenes amongst the officials regarding last night."

"Collie Campbell will probably look at the play."

"Arron Asham is not being rewarded for his play, and they might lose him."

"You'll have to ask Therrien why Odjick, Van Allen (replaced by Juneau on the fly) and Berezin were on the ice with under a minute to play. I don't know."

"A league official told me (meaning MacGuire) and Mike Farber that it is "imperative" that the New York Rangers make the playoffs."

Mitch Melnick: "Some people around here have suggested that Michel Therrien should be coach of the year."

MacGuire: "What??"

Melnick: "Some people around here said he should win."

MacGuire: "Who said THAT???

When you'e on the road in a close game the breaks usually go to the home team. As much as folks were hyping this game, there is still plenty of time left. This stretch of road games coming up will be huge, but I'm starting to lose that loving feeling.

Thanks for that, your Badness.  I wouldn't put it past this league to let it filter down, like gentle rain that moisteneth without being overwet, that it be a good idea to have the team in the biggest TV market in the world nab that eighth spot rather than a foreign Milwaukee, no matter how rich the trad may be.

I'm starting to like Maguire. He is plain-spoken and shoots pretty straight for a guy with the shakes.  I wouldn't let him scope my pancreas, but for hockey talk he's more trustworthy than most.

He's right about Asham and Therrien.  Savard has to step in and Jello-wrestle Therrien's brain to the mat.....

I think Maguire has gotten over his Hab hating which went on over the summer into the beginning of the year.  HOnestly I think he is becoming a fan of this overachieving team.  

You know we have the perfect center to play between Kilger & Asham...too bad he is hurt.  Gratton would be excellent on that line.  They would raise cain if put together and allowed to play 4 mins a game

FINALLY!!! Pierre McGuire and Mitch Melnick have the balls to say what should be said.Therrien is doing a horrible job and should be canned.I should also mention Demers who also questionned what the hell Berezin, Odjick and Van Allen where doing on the ice.


Amazing how us FANS can see he is as incompetent as they come, yet some journalists who are supposed to be 'great hockey minds' can't even find a flaw with MT.

I am also starting to like McGuire.When he is on the NHL network(must have for any hockey fan) his insight is excellent and the way he breaks down plays is amazing.He also does that spider thing with his hand which is freaking ridiculous. ;D

If Michel Therien should be canned then why don't we go get Ted Nolan, HE CAN'T do worse and he would be dying for a second shot in the same division as the Sabres.......
