Somewhere between the first 10 games of the season and the last 20 games we became the most boring team in the NHL.
We attempt to play the trap (not very well I might add) and don't even bother to try and score a goal until one is scored against us. We give up a ton of shots each game, and play a perimeter offence that shows no imagination, and has zero effectiveness.
As a fan of hockey I am so sick and tired of watching this team. We don't play hockey, not any form of it. This game is going to hell if a team playing like this can make the playoffs.
I don't blame the players. They're doing what they can, and can only play like the coaches teach them. We've been missing key players for 3 years now, and the rest of the guys just can't make it up.
This coaching staff should be banned from NHL or any hockey rink. What a pathetic bunch of a$$ holes.
I'm so pissed off I can't believe it. Go Sabres, Go Pens, Go Caps, you've got to be playing something that more resembles hockey than this team. Rangers suck just as much as us, holy crap I hate Fleury.

I agree.WE DON'T EVEN HAVE THE PERSONNEL TO PLAY THE FRIGGIN TRAP! YOU NEED A BIG TEAM TO GIVE NO ROOM TO THE OTHER TEAM!
We ARE not going to make the playoffs.

The playoffs? Is that the tiny point of light far off in the distance that seems to be getting smaller and smaller....oh...it's gone.
HA, that chicken better be good looking, or I demand a refund.
Hmmmm. not bad. For realism, he should be bent over....bad back and all. Can you throw Taz in there too? Or Sammy. <br> ( I quess you could still make chicken coco vin out of old, boisterous roosters. HA)

After last night's game I was saying to myself that the Habs absolutely don't DESERVE to be in the playoffs.
In what was probably the biggest game of the season, how can they allow the Rangers to outshoot them 42-24. It just boggles my mind how they can be outshot game after game after game. And it's not like they're being outshot by five or six shots. At the end of the game the box score shows the Habs being outshot by 15-20 shots every game. Recently they were outshot badly by the Bruins, the Sabres and last night by the Rangers. Saturday against the Leafs the Habs registered 21 shots, and Therrien thought that his team "controlled the tempo", this is absolute BS.
I am so mad and frustrated with Therrien I am ready to throw things at the t.v during games. His on-the-job training has to stop after this season, regardless whether or not the Habs make the playoffs. Because even if they do make the playoffs, it'll be solely because of Theodore, with honourable mention going to guys like Gilmour and Juneau.
Therrien should not get any credit for making the playoffs. He should go back to the AHL where he belongs. He makes this team play the most boring, uncreative style of hockey that I've ever seen.
And I have one final question, if the Habs aren't scoring goals and are supposed to be playing this conservative defensive style, then why are they constantly being outshot in every game, and why do they struggle when holding on to leads going into the third period???
The reason: Because MT is an idiot. He is not encouraging his players to score and at the same time his defensive game plan is often atrocious. He has absolutely no business coaching in the NHL.
Let's all send Pierre Boivin a Hallmark card for picking this gem of a coach in the first place.

I am not losing all faith in the Habs. They are in 9th place and two points out with 16 games to go.
I am just saying that if it weren't for a lot of MT's coaching decisions we would probably be in 6th place instead of desperately holding on by the skin of our teeth for 8th place. I have not lost faith in the Habs, (and I never will) I am just frustrated when I see games like the one they played against Buffalo and even the one against Toronto.
As for Therrien's abilities, I stand by my opinion that he is not competent enough to coach in the NHL. Maybe he will be someday with more experience, but he isn't right now. In the past 9 games, that's two that the Habs have lost in the last minute. And with us fighting for every point those two losses really sting. First was the loss to Detroit, and then there was last night. Against Detroit MT had Traverse defending our zone when Shanahan scored, and last night we had the defensive prowess of Brisebois, Berezin and Odjick going into the final 60 seconds of play.
That's why with decisions like these, Therrien deserves to be canned. Yes, I know that they are still in the thick of the race, but that has very little to do with Therrien and a lot to do with Theodore.

My heart is always with the Habs, but my head (which usually makes better decisions, especially with investments) tells me that if I could short the Habs chances of making the playoffs, I'd be big in the money. ÊAs I have said on altogether too many occasions, to the point where it's boring, it will take a miracle of netminding for the Habs to get in. ÊAny wins we get from now on will be shutouts, because we can't win otherwise. ÊThe predominant philosophy of not allowing players to make any mistakes results in them making a bunch of mistakes because they're tight, woundup, 180 over 120, shaking at the knees tight. ÊAnd the head coach is hockey challenged. ÊMy heart prays for them every game, but my head is telling me we'll get 8 points out of our next sixteen games. ÊHA is trying to hold us together in an earlier post, but it reminds me of a store owner who was losing money on every sale, but swore that he was going to make it up on volume. ÊEight points out of 32, a .250 clip. ÊIf that's what it takes to fire Therrien, my head is all for it. ÊUnfortunately, given his support from the media, I'm not sure a perfect season, (0-82-0), would do it. ÊAnybody have a runaway truck I can borrow? Ê
