There was a rumors on tsn.com that if Washington stumbles from here to the trade deadline that Chris Simon would be available for a draft pick. Would I ever love to see that happen and I think it could considering that Montreal will have a mid round pick this year and this years crop isn't to deep. + I would love to see Simon reborn here in Habsland. He would definatly be a great spark with Perreault and Berezin. He has size skill and a good mean streak. I would give them an Injured Hackett, 1st rounder, Ribiero and one of the following Dmen Bouillon, Robidas, Rivet or Souray.
This would be the best player Montreal could pick up at the deadline and i hope AS is reading cause I would love to see Chris Simon in the Bleu Blanc Rouge

No way you give up a 1st rounder for a 3rd-4th line player.
Simon For a d-man or someone pretty useless, yes...but not a 1st rounder.

I have been harping about getting Simon for awhile now. While I wouldn't go so far as a first rounder for him, I would do Mathieu Garon for him. Washington needs a young goalie to bring up behind Kolzig. Billington is getting up there and there is no heir on the horizon. This of course won't happen because of our current situation with Jeff Hackett, but, if we could get Stephane Fiset for a fourth rounder or second tier prospect like Eric Chouinard or Chris Dyment then deal Garon for Simon, I would do it.

I don't even know if I would give up Garon for him.Simon isn't 25 years old.He is getting closer and closer to UFA.

I agree Marc. While I like the idea of a Simon like presence on the team, he has been oft-injured lately and as alluded to, he just turned 30. If you forget the fact he had 29 goals in 99-00, his best year was 95-96 with Colorado, 16-18-34 in 64 games. Better to get a younger tough guy as the older the tough guys get, the less they really fight (refer to Gino). I'd give up a second tier prospect maybe..that's in the Shasby, Dyment range (assuming a better reviewer considers them 2nd tier).
