Since I can't speak or understand french, I don't know what the guys on RDS are saying, but from the length of time Hack spent on the ice, I'm guessing this isn't a minor injury. Hopefully I'm completely wrong.
So let the rumors begin. If Hackett is out for an extended period, we can't trade him for anything. So should they be concentrating on a potential market for Garon? As BadCompany has hammered home time and time again, we are going to lose one of our goalies during the summer. If we can't trade Hackett, it has to be Garon that goes. As for who is going to want Garon, I'm sure there are some teams out there who would be interested in a young potential number 1 netminder, who is likely ready to step into a back up position now.
Maybe they should look at locking up Hackett for the next few years. He seems to like Montreal, maybe he'd be willing to finish out he career challenging Theodore for the number 1 job. Only Hack becomes the underdog and not Theo. Anyone think he'd be willing to renegotiate his contract? Something like 7 million for the next 3 years? 3-2.5-1.5? I'm sure he'd want some sort of bonus for renegotiating, so how about a no trade clause for the first 2 years? Gives him a little security, and gives us a fairly cheap, back-up goaltender for trade bait in a couple of years.
Just some thoughts.

It seems like Hack is going to be injury prone the rest of his career. I don't doubt his abilities one bit, but he's not getting any younger. A back-up only sees 25 games a year anyways, you can't afford to have injuries mixed in there.

The guys on RDS were saying pretty much what you are saying - that it doesn't look good.
Cripes. If it weren't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all. Is there some sort of law now, that says a player has to get injured just as he is about to be traded??

It's official:Jeff Hacket has now reached the bad luck level Saku Koivu reached.
I mean, you look at the play and it's hard to see when he injured his shoulder.
Like Ryan said, it looks like Hack will be injury prone for the rest of his career.3rd serious injury in barely a calendar year.Ouch.
