I just heard on the radio (CKAC) that apparently our good friend Gino was nowhere to be found this morning and missed the plane so he won't be with the team tonight.
Is Gino in Therrien's doghouse or is Therrien in Gino's doghouse? Or both...

RDS is reporting it too, now. Says that Andre Savard and Michel Therrien still haven't heard from him, as of this morning.
I hope he just missed his flight, and its not something serious, like he has gone off the deep end or something...

Hmmmmm, could it be that he missed the flight because he fells bad about costing the Habs the game? :-( From what I hear about Gino, he's always been a professional about hockey and a nice guy all-around. :-) If it is because of his involvement in the loss, it would also show how much he cares about the organization. He has already shown us those two traits (professionalism and caring for the organization) during his recent demotion to the AHL Quebec Citadelles. :-) BC, I echo your concern, I hope it is nothing serious and that all that happened was a missed flight. On the other hand, you'd think NHLers could afford to make a collect call to their bosses to let them know they missed the plane....

Was thinking the same thing. Mabe it's the paternal instinct in me, but I'm a bit worried here. If anyone hears any new news, please let us know.

I just heard he has been suspended by the team.No reason was given.Good, this guy is becoming a sideshow.I hope he is released ASAP.All things considered,we would probably be better off with a much cheaper and hungrier P.J. Stock.

Stock. I doubt anything bad has happened to Gino - it'd be all over the news already. As to having PJ Stock instead.... Stock is an agitator, but he commands little to no respect out there. Gino has an effect on other teams; Stock doesn't. Our alternatives for the goon role are basically Francis Bélanger, or else spreading the job around. I'd like to see Bélanger get another chance myself.

Odjick has little effect on any team, except OURS.And his effect is a negative one.Taking dumb penalties like he did last night, saying in the media he has 'la maladie du chauffeur d'autobus' because he is sitting too much and not spending the summer to get in shape.Unbelievable.At least Stock will actually fight and not complain in the media when he only gets a minute or two of ice time per game.

Stock will also get destroyed by any serious enforcer out there, and won't have any kind of a deterrent effect. You gotta have one guy who can go at it... The Asham's, the Rivet's and the Stock's just won't cut it.

On TVA sports they mentionned a phone conversation between Savard and Odjick. Apparently wasn't a very friendly conversation, Gino whining about ice time and all, but let's say that it's clear that Gino is alive and well. And possibly considering retirement. Or at least he should be, if he can't accept his role anymore. Maybe we could ship him to Florida to hang out with his buddy Pavel ? FLO wants more veterans anyhow. If we can get back a 6th rounder I'll be happy :-)

Apparently he didn't show up for the team bus, after the Ottawa game, taking the team to catch the flight to Chicago. And as said was complaining to Savard about ice time who said show up and talk to the coach, he decides all these matters. And until you do you're suspended without pay. Therrien has said that ice time is "non negotiable" as otherwise it would be unfair to other players on the team. Also that he's not exactly going about getting more ice time in the most effective manner- no kidding.
Ol' Gino may soon be history.
