"The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph, but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered, but to have fought well."
"In the name of all competitors, I promise that we shall take part in these Olympic Games, respecting and abiding by the rules that govern them, in the true spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of sport and the honor of our teams."
The whining, bellowing, finger-pointing and crying foul at these Olympics is at an all-time high. It's embarrasing for all. ALL peoples of every race creed and colour. The Games belong to the athletes. WE are spectators. Makes me want to call up my Greek bretheren and ask them to take the Olympic Flame away permanently, this thing has become soooooooo damn poltical. Banning ALL media from the Olympics sounds like a good idea, as they provide just the right vehicle for the b i t ching; for the political machine to grandstand. It's really become quite pathetic.
Please, no Nation-bashing. I understand that emtions run high and immense patriotism can get the best of people and that no-one is immune - but please, as mature adults, we need to keep these in check, step back and take a deep breath, and think. Hurtful comments are just that...hurtful. Anti-Russian, American, Lithuanian, Korean, Canadian, etc, etc commentaries...will NOT be tolerated here.
Enjoy the rest of the games and... GO CANADA GO!

But, but...............can we still pick on BadCompany? ;D Well said Spiro, let's wrap ourselves in the Canadien Flag, BUT, let us not wrap ourselves while standing on somebodies face. As a little side note. A building that I own housed the original designers and manufacturers of the Canadien Flag in 1964. In fact, I was involved in the controversy a few years ago with the Prime Ministers office claiming they owned the "original" flag. All I can say is that it was very interesting "dealing" with the Prime Ministers office. ........ Yup, and you guys thought that I was just a run of the mill brilliant Hab's poster. 8)
