OK, so I may be making my very first trip to Montreal to see the Washington game on the 26th and I'm looking over StubHub to find some seats.
My questions, for those of you who know,
In the lower bowl, the row numbers are lettered. Do they go in order from A being closest to the ice and W, X, Y etc being higher up?
What is the deal with the double letter rows, in the "Prestige" sections. What is so "Prestige" about those sections? Again, lowest letters closest to the ice?
In popular opinion, what are the best seats in the house?
It's a once in my lifetime so far experience, so I want to make it the best possible!

Prestige section will get you in seat service I imagine. Someone takes your order, brings it to you, and you pay for it.
It's been more than ten years since I saw a game in Montreal (yes I need to get back). I was in the lower bowl, which is really 2/3 of the whole bowl. As far as I'm concerned, any of those seats has a good view. Considering the size of the place, I never felt far away from the action. If you can get away from the endzone nets, you'll have a less obstructed view (which aren't that bad really - you get used to looking through them).

Hey Roggy, I have frequented the Bell Centre many times so I kinda know my way around...
Double letters begin a section; for example in the lower bowl, AA is actually "Platinum" (first row up against the glass), then the "Prestige" rows start BB, CC, DD (up to FF if I'm not mistaken), at which point row A begins, B, C, and so forth up to Row W which is the last row in the lower bowl seats (or "Reds")... All those names, Platinum, Prestige, Red A etc don't mean anything but give the Habs a reason to justify charging different/higher prices for different sections and areas closer to the centre and closer to the ice.
As for the upper bowl, Whites are the first section and are marked AA-BB-CC-DD-EE-FF, then Greys A-B-C-D, both of which are in the 300 series, then the last 4 rows are Blues, again A-B-C-D but are distinguished by the 400 series numbering. (i.e. Sec 417 Row A is the first section in the Blues, whereas Sec 317 Row A is in the Greys, and 317 Row AA is first row Whites).
From the corners around the back of the net you have on one side, the Molson Ex Zone which consists of the Greys and Blues together (or the 8 rows after the Whites), more of the college crowd, lots of beer and cheering with the Molson Ex girls... and behind the net on the other side, the last 4 rows after Whites and Greys, you have the Family Zone (tickets sold in a pair are for 1 Adult and 1 Child under 16).
The 200s or Club Desjardins are great seats in between the lower and upper bowl level, that include unlimited food and drink (non-alcoholic) with your ticket. The seats are bit bigger, giving you more leg room, you have your own private coat check and concessions area. In many cases, these tickets are more expensive than lower bowl Reds.
I have sat in Reds (lower bowl 100s), Prestige CC and its quite an experience to see the players up close like that...but if I had a choice, I would sit 10-15 rows higher to get the best view of the whole ice. I've sat last row in the lower bowl and its a great view, you really can't go wrong with Reds.
In the upper deck, Whites all the way. First few rows offer the best view and they are well worth the price.
Long story short, if its a once in a lifetime experience, I'm sitting 10-15 rows up in Reds somewhere between Sections 111-115 or 103-123 (centre ice)...and I'm a happy Habs fan.

Excellent info, thanks Bigstar. I ended up with 2 seats in section 115, row DD. Gotta love that Double D.

Those are great seats. I sat in DD, section 102 once before. These happen to be the seats in front of Beliveau and two up from the Habs bench. It was awesome. You'll really appreciate the game more from that close.

Those will be great seats.
If I remember well, you'll have the Caps in their own zone for Period 1 and 3. Hopefully the Habs spend a lot of time attacking on that night.
Enjoy !
